Bwfc Ladies

Featured Replies

My daughter (5) has recently started to play football ... at the Chelsea match yesterday she said she would like to watch the ladies team play. Anyone got any info on them?? where do they play etc.

What a bizarre notion

If you want a sensible reply I'd suggest moving it to the football bit becuase in here a thread with 'BWFC Ladies' is going straight to the gutter by midnight!

I resent the impliction that we can't have a serious thread about lasses playing football.

So much so, I'm not going to post the following picture:

Just to confirm, are these the agreed font sizes and colours?

Not sure what we agreed 'back in the day'

I think maybe it's a girls football thing Cas. Those with daughters who play will watch, those without will scoff.

I have a lad and a girl, both of whom have played during their childhood. Given a choice of watching 22 lads try and show each other how fucking hard they are by contesting every decision, squaring up to whoever dares tackle him, going in hard whether the ball can be won or not, or watching 22 girls, maybe not the most skillful players; although some are; but playing the game because they want to win, not because their manager DEMANDS it. I know which I'll choose.

If I was a parent, I'd be far likelier to enocurage a daughter to take football seriously.

There's clearly much room for improvement in the women's game. Any girl with talent has a far higher chance of success.

Plus as you say amateur men's football has loads of knobheads

I just would like her to see that Girls and Women do play football - not just men. Might give the Junior ladies a go, not sure where that ground is though.

get her to one of the internationals.

I just would like her to see that Girls and Women do attempt to play football

Corrected for you.

Its your young lad right?

ie his lad's not very good, but the girl's got potential! :D

Women's football was banned from league grounds from 1921 for 50 years because Goodison Park was drawing bigger crowds for women's football than for Everton. (not that surprising really)

Do Dick Kerr's still have a team. They used to be a top ladies team. If a male football player was having a bad time, the crowd used to shout "You're not good enough for Dick Kerrs."
