Who Though?

If this dire excuse for 'football' carries on, then what saviour is a club like ours realistically going to expect. I can't honestly think of any better at the moment. Mark Hughes? Get real.

Wouls Steve Mclaren stop some of players from making the most basic errors like that defensive header from Robbo? I dont think Jesus Christ himself could stop that.

But Steve McLaren might just organise the team so that they are not under continual pressure. It is that pressure that leads to mistakes being made.

Can't believe we're having this discussion. Would be ludicrous to get rid of Coyle now, ludicrous.

Steve McClaren have you just said that or is this dorada I'm supping making me hallucinate

I really want OC to succeed, as during our purple patch, the atmosphere at the bok was the best it's been since the early years of Allardyce. But, it seems like our players are somehow unlearning how to play football. Tackling each other, not keeping possession. The basics are non-existant. Many have said that Norwich are basically a championship side still, but what they are doing is working. I don't think sacking the manager now is a good idea, but to wait till Xmas with no real improvement would be suicide. Let's hope the will be some.

Martin O Neill wants a job probably not ours though if we had a vacancy - and who ever said it first i agree this is bloody desperate

You aint half dramatic Dids.

Bolton win a couple and your going to win the league, you loose a few and your going down.

everyone agrees we were getting hammered yesterday...yes ?

OC has one sub forced on him and that did not help, but you have to cope with what gets thrown at you.

skd goes off for klasnic, and petrov for Kakuta, no change of system and after the subs if anything sunderland had even more of the ball, why not change the system? swap the daviess mark for kevin ?

ok he wants to stick to this system, but even then if skd had been on the pitch would he have been helping defend the corner they scored off? he is having a poor season but at set pieces at our end he is better than IK. Now people might say you do not blame for forwards for defenders not doing their jobs (robinson) but given we now have 11 back for corners it is about what the team does.

the only reason OC is not under real pressure is that i doubt we can afford to sack him, but if you bring a young manager in and let him bring his back room staff who are equally inexperienced this is risk you take.

we are in a hole and need something to change at the moment OC has not shown he can do that, i am desperate for him to show he can do the job but at the moment seems a long way off.

Fucking sweet baby jesus....i forgot about o neil...there is one stumbling block though...gartside has appointed some shite in his time...

Bang on the money that sir

Yes I do. Paul Robinson heads that clear and its nil a piece with 5 minutes left.

The second was 3 on 3 on the break because we where trying to equalise.

You take that mistake out it would have finished nil nil. As bad as we where it would have still been a draw.

Ok, obviously with 8 minutes to go anything could have still happened but if he makes that simple defensive header then we would have had a much better chance of getting a point than how he fucked up.

Yet again we have conceded with a schoolboy defensive error. Steinson was the same against Chelsea for there first.

Its easy to blame Coaching staff, training etc but you would expect lads turning out on a Sunday morning not to make basic errors like that let alone pros.

Maybee there confidence is just shot at and thats where the manager does come in.

The thing is, just after Robinson's 'fuck up' Eagles looked to have had ample opportunity to put a boot through the ball.

Phil Brown

because he's had enormous success everywhere he's managed!:pardon:

Phil Brown could barely manage a wank, I bet.

I disliked Megson a lot, however when Megson was in charge even though I didn't want him as manager, I never wanted him to fail because if he did that, then that meant that Bolton would have been losing more games than not[which we did] and the club comes before any feelings towards a manager.

Megson was an un-likeable manager, Coyle is likeable, both have different philosophies, both have contrasting vibes they give out, however atm it's just as worse now than what it was under Megson and as I've mentioned I really don't think it matters who's manager, doesn't matter what kind of tactics, formations, 4-4-2, 4-5-1, 10-0-0, if we defend, defend, defend or if we attack, attack, attack, play gung-ho or park the bus, kick and rush v the beautiful game, I don't think we're good enough player wise.

We don't have the full backs, we don't have any creativity in the middle if M.Davies isn't playing and Petrov and Eagles are inconsistent, though those two have created more than anyone else imo throughout this embarrassing season.

Too much bad luck as hit Coyle, losing Elmander and Sturridge's goals, ok that's nowt to do with luck, but we are far weaker than last season [imo] and we don't have any funds [like Megson had] to replace what they gave.

Losing our best players in Holden and Lee, that's a massive reduce in quality in our side, Coyle can't for me replace what they contribute, so not only are we down on goals and assists from last season, we are missing the players that are perfect for Coyle's ideal football style , a manager can't help the umpteen mistakes our players make, he can encourage and motivate them on the touchlines and in training etc, he does this at the game, where Megson would just yell at players it seemed.

Realistically imo we can't bring in anyone who could sort this out, we've had years of success, we've had Europe, we've had top 6-8 finishes, Sammy Lee, Megson and now Coyle will be compared to those times because it's hard, well for me anyway to see us down in the relegation zone, when it wasn't that long ago when we were doing great, we had far better players back then and players like Jussi and K.Davies were very reliable.

I think Coyle has improved us, the football we played last season at times was just unreal, we got far in the F.A Cup, but since April 2011, the players have just not performed and we have lost so much through players leaving and players getting injured, even if we had the players we had last season, there might not have been much difference, but I think we wouldn't have been as bad as what we are.

it's not an excuse post for Coyle this because results are what matters and this is terrible, I'd rather have a Coyle type manager over a Megson type though.

Even though there are boo's at the game now and Coyle's losing a lot of popularity, I wouldn't want us to go down the same road as what it was like under Megson.

We'd have gone down that season imo, Coyle came in and brought in Wilshere and kept us up, then we had a fantastic August-December 2010, it's not far off being a year since we saw Bolton play unstoppable football, but unfortunately it's not lasted and between December and April it declined.

We had Sturridge to thank for keeping our league form at a survival rate and we had a great cup run also, it's massively declined since April, we lost Holden at United, we lost 5-0 to Stoke, we lost our last 5 games, we stayed up, we then had Lee maimed in pre-season, Elmander moved on, Sturridge went back to his parent club, not only this but other players have had injuries and when we thought we'd see our player of the season again, we get the news that he's out for another 6 months" pfft!, keeping Cahill was a positive, winning our opening fixture 4-0 was encouraging, but with this average team and a team who constantly make mistakes, it's hard for any manager to get the players getting consistent results.

He could go more defensive, he could try something different, to be fair he has tried swapping players around, he's even dropped our captain, it's the players that get results, it's evident Coyle is a very likeable manager towards the players, that's not the problem, it was different under Megson, it was bad on and off the pitch, but results are what bring the cheers and what bring the boo's, they'll be a lot of pressure on Coyle atm and also Gartside and E.Davies, but change won't do us any good at all imo, a honeymoon period at best maybe, but unless we get some billionaire or some miracle healing person for Holden and Lee, I just think we are going to have to pray and hope that somehow we can at least survive, even if that means only a long boring season, I look at this team, and think it's average, the wins are rare atm and the performances are disgraceful, there's not much I can go off to give me a feeling of belief and make me sure that we'll survive.

Long post I know, but I just typed what was in my head, sorry if there's any typo's or spelling mistakes.
