  • No he was being a cunt. He said he thinks a red was justified but under the current rules its a yellow. He thought Parker would of got to goal without anybody getting to him first which its bollocks.

  • When did Scott Parker cease being Ray Wilkins and turn into Lionel Messi?   There's no way he'd have even attempted a sprint on goal from that far out. He'd have stopped, waited for Gareth Bale to c

Good, the cunt.

i really dont see what that achieves?

You don't think refs should be punished for diabolical decisions?

Doesn't help us, admittedly.

I`ve said for years that players red carded in the first half should have a review if the decision was a bit doubtful, especially if it was a straight red. The ref then should take a look at it during the interval and decide if it was the right decision or not. If he made a mistake then the player returns for the second half.

i really dont see what that achieves?

It lets him know he's been a bit of a nob.

punished no, educated yes

it was an opinion, not a criminal act

Ever heard of operant conditioning?

(I hope i've got that right!)

Of course it's an opinion, but that opinion was a fucking terrible one. So his bosses should just shrug their shoulders and go through what is and what isn't a goalscoring opportunity? He's a professional referee. He shouldn't need educating that Parker wasn't in a goalscoring position when Cahill fouled him.

However, if he still stands by his belief that the red card was right then he should never be allowed to referee again as he is clearly a natural fuckwit.

If it had happened on the edge of the area and Parker had dived, therefore conning Atwell then I'd have some sympathy for him. But that's not what happened. For an opposing manager to come out and say he was amazed to see the ref pull out a red says all there needs to be said.

i dont believe that would help in this situation.

if he's shit, pull him until he improves or at least show signs of a better understanding.

but to drop him for one game, or even relegate him, doesnt see like it would help imo.

dont forget this mon could award us a few phantom goals should we need them.........

So you think punishment is only the right thing to do if it means something good can come of it?

Maybe I'm just a sadistic bastard but I think he should be punished regardless.

Do you honestly think he would've given a red card to a Spurs player if the roles were reversed?

I like this idea.

No break in play, it can be done in the 15 minute interval.

It won't prevent mistakes, but it is damage limitation for a wrong decision.

That way, Cahill could have come back on and it would still have been 1-0 at the time.

(We'd still have let at least 3 in, but that's irrelevant now! :D )

Tis a great idea.Too many games are ruined by a dodgy sending off in the first half.

Plus it would give the "Match of the day" pundits something new to cream over.

I agree that suspending Atwell for one game isn't going to teach him anything. It hasn't in the past, because he continues to make the same basic errors. He should be sacked not suspended. There must be a decent ref in the Championship who's ready to step up and replace him.

did they overturn the one from the same referee last season, in the pretty much the same position, and with the same defender in question?

if they didn't, then I wouldn't expect them to overturn this one

Could be wrong but I thought that in a couple of matches prior to the arsenal game, atwell had made a couple of major fuck ups.

Overturning that decision would have seemed to undermine him further so the fa effectively backed him and the ban stood.

Atwell should be put in a stock outside the Reebok on Saturday and fans allowed to throw bad eggs at him for charity

Then sacked - of course he wouldn't have sent a Spurs player off if one of them did the same foul

And to people who agree that Wheater deserved a red against Everton I have seen many worse tackles since then and just got a yellow.

We are Bolton and we are being robbbed

He wasn't set for a match this weekend before the spurs match. He was down as 4th official and still is so wouldn't get excited

Atwell hasnt been axed from reffing next week, he was scheduled to be 4th official and is still doing it. Hopefully they'll do something about his incompetence after the red card has been overturned

Gary chuckle talking shite on SS1

He reckons its not cut and dried

He's a wanker talking shite again, trying to make circumstances fit his argument

Fucking bell end

Why's that? Second red of the season i presume? :pardon:

Na. Just because he's shit with the touch of a baby hippo.

They think they're doing us a favour.

Oh and then he proceeded to over stress that everything else in the game was due to Spurs being great and not that we had 10 men

How fuckIng ridiculously over simplified and transparent

It was like he'd been paid to really stress that the bad decision changed nothing

Fucking cuntrot

So?

It was a red offence. Full stop.

Schumacher didn't get sent of against France in '82, so does that mean all subsequent assaults get no card ?

Of the 5 reds we've had this season, only the latest one is debatable, the first 4 nailed on.

Theres many reasons we're where we are in the league, dodgy refereeing isn't one of them.

But hey-ho, its easier to blame someone else.

I've had to turn over.

I like the word cuntrot though, cheers.

He'd also be more comfortable using an etch-a-sketch than Andy Gray's stupid toys!

But if everyone got a red with a red offence the games would end up 5 a side - If Wheater was playing for one of the big boys he would have been given a yellow

Totally agree we are where we are for other reasons mind and most of them are crap players, poor team selections and bad substitutions. Bad referring decisions dont help though
