Eddie Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Have they not already said that Pearce will take temporary charge for the Holland game, which is the only England game during the Premiership season. IMO this will mean that Redknapp can finish the season with Spurs, then take the England job with plenty of time before the Euros. Personally I want Redknapp to take it, like a few others have said he is the best English candidate and his teams play good football, plus he seems to have a good relationship with his players and be fairly respected throughout the game. Still don't think we would get close to winning anything, but we wouldn't with the best manager in the world. Quote
Rembrandt Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Capello quits ..............before the shit hits the fan again, like in 2010. Well I never ! Quote

Makes sense putting Pearce in charge for the friendlies, would'nt want him anywhere near the Euros though, I am thinking Arry will want to finish on a high with Spurs, so will leave the other option until May, and lead England into battle. Not sure if that gives him time to stamp his brand into the team, but for sure he will have a lot more passion for the cause than any foreign Manager, that said so would Pearce, oh dear we're fooked if he ever ends up Managing in major competitions. james phillips Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 I wonder if HMRC have sorted Rosie the dog a national insurance number yet? Quote
Youri McAnespie Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Rosie snuffed it quite a while ago - but keep it under your hat, 'Arry's still claiming her dog pension (well, if it existed, he would be). Quote
anewman Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 You've all got double standardy, you all slate john terry and call him a racist but you are all sreaming for an English manager therefore being very xenophobic which is not much diferrant to racism, Quote
Guest Frandsen08 Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 I'm officially throwing my name into mixer for the vacant england manager position. Quote
Zulu Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 A lot of people seem to have forgotten that Harry Redknapp is a twat. I just thought that it might be time for a reminder. I agree with No Balls. Quote
Nowack Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 We need a nationalistic passionate manager who has managed in this country and links with West Ham. Step forward Paulo Di Canio Quote

Moderators Casino Posted February 9, 2012 Moderators Posted February 9, 2012 what is it about redknapp that makes folk think he'll be any good is it his record of winning 9 league titles and 1 champions league? Quote
Moderators Zico Posted February 9, 2012 Moderators Posted February 9, 2012 (edited) what is it about redknapp that makes folk think he'll be any good is it his record of winning 9 league titles and 1 champions league? nowt it's more a case of best option we've got not had an English manager of this calibre for a good while name one who's managed in the CL or mounted a title challenge or won the FA Cup of late alternatively name a foreign manager who's won 9 titles and a champs league who'll come in time for the the summer, or now, who'll care more about the team than his ?6m a year salary Ericcson and more so Capello had more than impressive CVs, but did nowt, we may have even regressed if we need a rousing h/t team talk in the WC 1/4 finals or something, I can't think of a better candidate it might not even work out but right now, it's our best shot Edited February 9, 2012 by ZicoKelly Quote

Moderators Casino Posted February 9, 2012 Moderators Posted February 9, 2012 so, you completely agree that theres nowt to suggest he'll be any better than capello reet should we not then weigh it all up rather than hastily giving this sneaky twat the top job Quote

SpiritofBurnden Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Top marks to Fabio Capello for his principled stance. The boardroom should keeps its nose out of team affairs. Capello should never have reappointed Terry as captain after the embarrassment he caused previously. That alone would warrant taking the decision out of his hands this time. Quote
Sweep Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 I can't be bothered reading all 6 pages before this, but has anybody mentioned Glenda Hoddle? - I don't think he did too a bad job last time, as far as I know he's still involved in the game at some sort of "second chance" academy over in Spain. I must admit, other than Hoddle, I can't see who else there is for the FA to approach other than old "Butchers Shop Window" Face Quote

Moderators Carlos Posted February 9, 2012 Moderators Posted February 9, 2012 I know you're fishing but you're right Nope, because anyone can be English, no matter what their ethnic background. By living in this country and speaking the language fluently, understanding the culture, one can be described as "English". No one is saying we need a white manager, that's racism, as whoever originally thought up anewman's nugget knows full well. "Harry" Rednapp isn't even 100% Anglo-Saxon or whatever constitutes being English in simple people's heads. Quote
