Have they not already said that Pearce will take temporary charge for the Holland game, which is the only England game during the Premiership season.

 

IMO this will mean that Redknapp can finish the season with Spurs, then take the England job with plenty of time before the Euros.

 

Personally I want Redknapp to take it, like a few others have said he is the best English candidate and his teams play good football, plus he seems to have a good relationship with his players and be fairly respected throughout the game.

 

Still don't think we would get close to winning anything, but we wouldn't with the best manager in the world.

Makes sense putting Pearce in charge for the friendlies, would'nt want him anywhere near the Euros though, I am thinking Arry will want to finish on a high with Spurs, so will leave the other option until May, and lead England into battle.

 

Not sure if that gives him time to stamp his brand into the team, but for sure he will have a lot more passion for the cause than any foreign Manager, that said so would Pearce, oh dear we're fooked if he ever ends up Managing in major competitions.

or mounted a title challenge

 

or won the FA Cup of late

 

alternatively name a foreign manager who's won 9 titles and a champs league who'll come in time for the the summer, or now, who'll care more about the team than his ?6m a year salary

out of work / willing to quit the job and come in now to get to know the players / set up and is a nice bloke

 

or

 

ready / prepared to come in at the end of the season in time to get them ready for the tournament and is a nice bloke

Top marks to Fabio Capello for his principled stance. The boardroom should keeps its nose out of team affairs.

 

 

 

Capello should never have reappointed Terry as captain after the embarrassment he caused previously. That alone would warrant taking the decision out of his hands this time.

I can't be bothered reading all 6 pages before this, but has anybody mentioned Glenda Hoddle? - I don't think he did too a bad job last time, as far as I know he's still involved in the game at some sort of "second chance" academy over in Spain.

 

I must admit, other than Hoddle, I can't see who else there is for the FA to approach other than old "Butchers Shop Window" Face
