Biggish Dave Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 I had us comfortably staying up with Wigan Wolves and QPR doomed. That said, I did us having a few home wins and considering we've only had 2 all season and dicked by Wigan, it could well be dodgy predictions Quote
MickyD Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 We should start singing this if we lose the next 2 To Adel's Somebody like you... Premier League its goodbye to you.. We wish nothing but the best to you Don't forget us as we drop down through the leagues When your lose a lot the championship's better instead When you lose a lot the championships better instead Great, a song thread. Now all we need is a decent song. Quote

jayjayoghani Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 As for home ties, Bolton can look lustfully at ties against QPR, Blackburn, Fulham, Swansea and West Brom. Five winable games, and 15 points on offer. wish I hadnt read this it's the hope that kills you Quote
Didledee Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 --------------- Wolves 30 Bolton 27 Wigan 24 Quote

gregbwfc Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 If we can beat QPR we'll stay out of the drop zone for the rest of the season. We've actually had more wins than any of the other 4,which really shows how poor we all are. So using that (warped) logic, we should win more than any of them in the last 11 games . We'll be reet - I think. Quote
Casino Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 reet, after the first 8 game horror run, how many did we get from the next 11 lets say we repeat that haul for the last 11 how many points will we have? Quote

Casino Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 lets try something else what was our best points haul in any 11 game sequence so far this season add that to what we've got where are we now still fcuked? Quote

We would be done and dusted in this position most seasons. 4 wins and 1 draw required. Really we should be looking at 7 points from QPR / Bburn and Wolves but I cannot see it. My guess is we will do it the hard way away at Villa, Sunderland and Stoke. Quote
Burndens Bogs Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Again trying to be honest with the results, here is my prediction for the end of season placings. I hope I'm right with this but I do get the feeling it's our turn to go down this time. A team staying up in the premier league with less than 30 points? I'm not saying it's not possible - but it would be a first shirley? Quote
Traf Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Doing the predictor has given me renewed hope & optimism: I'd written us off previously! 16th Bolton 29pts 17th QPR 27pts 18th Blackburn 27pts 19th Wolves 26pts 20th Wigan 25pts Wigan beat Wolves on the last day to take the dog-headed bastards down with them. Henry_VIII Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Ive got... Villa BW Blackburn Wolves QPR Wigan at the top... Utd City Spurs Arsenal Chelsea Worryingly though I only get us on 32 points and Wolves going down on 25... It will never in a million years be that low.... And I wonder why my coupon is never up.... Ani Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 wigan play 6 of top 7 as do qpr. wolves and bburn play 3 of them so assume they lose them, we beat qpr saturday, we are out of bottom 3, it is then us wolves and bburn for one spot., assume we beat both of them we are 6 points ahead of them both, they have 9 games left, 3 against top 7 which they lose, so they are 6 points behind us with 6 games to play. we are virtually safe as based on current perforamnces they get less than a point a game. No worries. Quote

How about we split the 11 games into a couple of "Best five game runs" = 2 x 8 pts plus "best single game" 3 pts gives us a grand total of 19 points. If only it was so simple. Quote
newton_white Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 I have Wigan, QPR, Blackburn going with us safe on 36 points. City win the league on goal diff. God knows where the wins are going to come from given how dire we've been all season. I'm hoping for a run similar to the one us and West ham went on the year we beat Boro on the last day to stay up. Got to hope that the title and the race for champions league places goes to the wire so that all the top teams have something still to fight for because crikey some of the run-in's the others have is horrendous. Trying to keep the faith and hoping it's not been kicked out of me by half time on Saturday. Quote
HomerJay Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 (edited) most of us cant pick all the results on a single weekend, so the chances of getting them all correct from now until the end of the season are pretty remote. so i wont bother depressing myself and will leave our fate in the hands of god (unfortunatly i dont think i will be the only one) Edited March 6, 2012 by HomerJay Quote

I will be interested in the fixture rearrangements. Hopefully we can visit Villa on the last Wednesday of the season and agree (before the sixth round) to play Spurs a few days after the FA Cup semi in the league match which will be rearranged unless we both succumb to Stevenage.
