July 1, 201511 yr It's pretty dense here now so it'll take some shifting. Had an hour sunbathing in the garden before though. Winning!
July 1, 201511 yr it's muggy as fuck here like a tropical country. I reckon we are in for a thunder storm in the valley
July 1, 201511 yr Been running around in the garden all morning. I am reaching hitherto unparalleled levels of sweaty bollocks. Olympic standard stuff
July 1, 201511 yr I remember Monday 1st July 1968. My usual route home from Uni was disrupted. I had a friend who was organising a 10 club trophy meeting for the official opening of his local track (Harrow), but he was competing for GB in Switzerland that weekend, so he did all the preparatory work and asked me to look after the on-the-day issues, staying at his parents' house Friday and Saturday evenings. There was a Tube strike, and no trains from Harrow on the Sunday, so I wrote and posted the "Athletics Weekly" report and stayed over another night. There were 3 viable Underground lines but 2 were not operating at all and the third was only running one in three of the normal trains. It was the hottest day in London since the war - maybe even of the century, and I had a heavy suitcase and a heavy briefcase to carry. The only way I could carry my anorak was to wear it on this vastly overcrowded Tube train! I survived somehow. Edited July 1, 201511 yr by MalcolmW
July 1, 201511 yr Malcolm, why did you have an anorak in July? It's the UK, you never know what going to happen
July 1, 201511 yr Malcolm, why did you have an anorak in July? I like to think of Malcolm as ALWAYS having an Anorak handy.
July 1, 201511 yr Malcolm, why did you have an anorak in July? It was end of term, end of year. Everything had to go. For all I knew when I set out it might have been raining on the Saturday and I could have needed it. (ZiggySmartarse on the button, as ever)
July 1, 201511 yr It really really needs to rain before I go to bed. Sweating like fook here! The sky is currently a beautiful shade of blue so I can't see it happening for a few hours at least. Now stop being mard.
