gonzo Posted July 13, 2017 Author Posted July 13, 2017 Aye it looks pretty gloomy mate. South wind always brings the wet stuff. No sign of change in direction till midnight. That'd be your only chance. Bring your cagoule and get the tram to lytham. The wind will have you back to Fleetwood in 10 mins Quote
MancWanderer Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 Don't mind a south wind mate. Like you say back to Fleetwood sharpish. Don't mind a bit of rain either stopping off at Bispham Kitchen for a chippy lunch and a brew on the way back but not sure I can stand Mrs Moaning Bastard going on about how it's ruined her hair........ Think you said a while ago on here that they'd fixed all that damage to the sea wall near that park and the prom is back open all the way. That right?? Quote

There's a little bit still under construction but the road is open from cleveleys centre to lower prom up to grass bit at norbreck. Even though it took about 30 years to build it looks smashing now round there. Not sure if rossall is finished yet mind.... Quote
MancWanderer Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 Great. Thanks mate. Just told her that it's light rain forecast. Reckons she's OK with it. We'll see.....???????? Looking forward to seeing what the lazy fuckers who were sleeping in their vans last time I was there have managed to achieve in terms of repairs Quote
Elvis Posted July 14, 2017 Posted July 14, 2017 Your welcome to some of the Dubai weather. It reached 50 deg C yesterday Quote

MancWanderer Posted July 15, 2017 Posted July 15, 2017 Set off from Fleetwood at 11. Shitty drizzle for about half an hour but dried up til just before 2 when we were getting back to Fleetwood Prom works still a pain in the arse - had to come off at that birdwatching tower at Rossall and go on the road up to Cleveleys. Real fucking grind into the wind on the way out but breezed back in half the time. Lovely fish chips and steak pudding at Bispham Kitchen made it all worthwhile ???????? Quote
MancWanderer Posted July 15, 2017 Posted July 15, 2017 I was hungry. The steak pudding was a side dish Quote

That rossall stuff seems to have been going on forever ffs. Never really go out that way so wasn't sure if it was done yet. I got drenched on bispham gala and did about £80 in the progress ???? Quote
MickyD Posted July 15, 2017 Posted July 15, 2017 Fish chips and steak pudding Wtf I was hungry. The steak pudding was a side dish Two course meal; main course and pudding. Quote
Casino Posted July 15, 2017 Posted July 15, 2017 Anyway shit weather here all day Might be brightening up Quote
Spider Posted July 15, 2017 Posted July 15, 2017 I'm at the British Grand Prix and it's fucking miserable So's the weather Quote
MancWanderer Posted July 15, 2017 Posted July 15, 2017 Two course meal; main course and pudding. Exactly!!!! Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Exactly!!!! Some troughing that. Well done. Quote
leigh white Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Fish, chips and gravy is puzzling, like eating sliced bread and butter with boiled potatoes. Quote
Burndens Bogs Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 A steak pudding and a fish seems wrong - as does fish with gravy. Fish and curry is a winner though. Mrs Bogs has just done a chicken roast dinner with 4 different veg, plus roasties, mash and yorkies. I feel like i've eaten a Transit van Quote
Escobarp Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Was back in Bolton a couple of weeks ago and my first stop was the chippy for fish chips and gravy. Cannot beat it Quote

I'd already imbibed six pints in the Stag on Daubhill then went round for Sunday roast. Fuck me, just looking at the mountain sized portion made me heave uncontrollably. Trying to eat that tankerful made me feel like Augustus Gloop. Quote
leigh white Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Russian folk abroad in the hotel piling plates up to the hilt at the self service with all sorts of jumbled up food makes me wince. Quote
MancWanderer Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Some troughing that. Well done. I was absolutely starving. Hadn't had breakfast and 15 miles on a bike into a cruel southerly Fylde Coast wind absolutely sapped me Fish, chips and gravy is puzzling, like eating sliced bread and butter with boiled potatoes. Agree. I can't have anything on my fish. The gravy was on the pudding and chips. Mrs M had fish chips and curry sauce. I find curry sauce revolting Quote
MancWanderer Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Back to the weather. Storms are coming apparently. Or is the Southern press worrying about the odd shower in London? Really humid in Manc today though so would welcome a decent storm Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 We've missed out on the last two storm systems. Not sure we'll get one this time, but if we do seems it might be in the early hours. Nowt worse than being aroused from a deep slumber by a sharp crack of lightning. Quote
gonzo Posted July 18, 2017 Author Posted July 18, 2017 A change in wind direction normally fucks them off as it simply can't carry on getting hotter without either a thunderstorm or change in wind to north or west. The wind switches south east in the morning so reckon we might be on. Quote
