Pablo Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 (edited) Ross Barkley , everton to Wednesday . Great signing That boy has some talent. He will either be an England regular, or drop down the league's. I know United keep sending teams of scouts to games to watch him. I have spoke to an Everton coach that said he is in the mold of your European midfielders like Pirlo and Xavi, loves the ball, and is calm with it, and doesnt even seem to think about what he has to do.....BUT....without the ball, he can switch off, and just let the game pass him by, so much so that he could end up in the lower leagues within 3 years. Fine line it seems, loan may do him good. Although on what I have seen, I am very disapointed ot see him go out. Edited August 18, 2012 by Pablo Quote

Ratwhite Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Agreed. Looks like he wouldn't be that interested in being with us. He'd have signed, had two good games, then put in a transfer request as wanted to join a top 4 prem side. Nzonzi it is then Quote

miamiwhite Posted August 18, 2012 Author Posted August 18, 2012 Mark Davies to Swansea...........................please,please,please,,,,,,,,,whatever they offer just take the money What's the update re any incomings ? Surely even Coylie Orbison can see we need strengthening Quote
miamiwhite Posted August 18, 2012 Author Posted August 18, 2012 that arsenal chappy gone to barcelona for £15million,tidy sum,not exactly gone for a Song Quote
Ratwhite Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Says in the Sun that Davies will snub Swansea to stay a trotter. Also says Josh Mchechran defo going out on loan to championship, with us, Dingles and Wolves all interested. Surely time to call in the Chelsea favour as Sanchez doesn't exist and we desperately need something in midfield? Quote
birch-chorley Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 can this mchechran or spearing tackle? Quote
Ratwhite Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 can this mchechran or spearing tackle? Both can, would take Mchechran over Spearing though, better engine Quote
The Wanderer Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 I'd rather get in a hard tackling midfielder with experience, we need someone who's been here and done it. Its ok having all this promising talent but when the senior, more experienced players are playing so badly, we're fucked! If we get stuck i'd be picking up the phone to NRC. Quote

Its ok having all this promising talent but when the senior, more experienced players are playing so badly, we're fucked! If we get stuck i'd be picking up the phone to NRC. Not to mention that all our young 'promising talent' didn't start the match yesterday - apart from Sordell. And only Afobe came on as sub. So would any new 'promising talent' get a game instead of the tried-and-failed experienced players ? As for NRC, he was knackered long before the end of the season after trying to do the job of 2 players in central midfield. Andrews could be heading the same way for the same reason. Quote
hughmungus Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Am I the only one sick of hearing about 'promising talent', we need footballers ffs not the next Pele. Our problem is now and not in 2-3yrs time when these 'promising talent' youngsters may or may not pay off. IS NRC still a free agent? Quote

Been hearing this since the 70s when I started supporting Bolton. Then and in to the early 80s talent did come through. There's been occasional good uns since (Nolan, Stubbs) but not much else. If a talented generation does come through, we'd best hope we're not in such a mess that we have to sell quickly (a la 80-83). Quote

Surely time to call in the Chelsea favour as Sanchez doesn't exist and we desperately need something in midfield? Sunday Express quoting the same report with the addition of Boro. Surely we must have the better chance due to Coyle's contacts but if the lad watched highlights of yesterday's shambles, then he'll be better off at Peterborough Quote

whiteyboy Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Young Josh isn't what we need. He's lightweight and lacks experience. We need experience to sit deep and some creatve to accompany them. No benefit playing mchechean over Vela IMO. Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Mentioned the Alonso experiment before sitting in front of the back giving Davies and Andrews the chance to push on in a 4-1-3-2 or a standard 4-1-4-1 formation, it should have been tried in pre-season though, can't see what Coyle actually did formation wise pre -season when he could have experimented he is so in the dark ages it's frightening.
