What LW said, or La Salsa in Horwich, even better if you're with a crowd.

Why not take the twelve min rout to the FAR PAVILION simply fantastic.

If you're treating the missus how about a trip to Manchester & 1847.

Or are you thinking big fat juicy steak?

Abode in Manchester

Il Toro in Horwich was nice last time I went

It's for my 30th me mam and dad want to take us somewhere nice for tea and they've told me to pick.

Was thinking Gaucho as I've never been but always fancied it, but was seeing if the good folk of wways could recommend anywhere different.

My check out some of the recommendations and book tomorrow

El Rincon de Rafa

Have to agree with Boothy, El Rincon is really good. It's fairly small so book early, if you can't get in try just round the corner at Akbars on Liverpool rd. A good atmosphere in em both, and top nosh to.

Akbars was far too rushed last time I was in on a Saturday night. The place is sooooooo busy. But good.

Australasia is very nice. Footballers wives type place though at times. Good food. Lots of seafood.

Il Toro is always decent. San Marino hit & miss.

Nicks is good. Not been the new one though.

La Salsa in Bolton town centre if you want quick & easy good tapas.

Can't beat Gaucho imho. Expensive but worth it for a special occassion. Try to get a booth. Went to the Living Room recently and it was crap. Grill On The Alley is ok. Nicks is great and the one on the roundabout is good. I like San Marino near Bellend aswell.

double post - friggin hand held tablet and fat thumbs

Went to Nicks @ Chequerbent couple of weeks ago midweek which was very good. Don't order side dishes unless you are a big eater as the portion sizes were more than adequate.

always thought COR was great - went to Chequerbent - was a disaster. Missed one main course, which they only discovered when serving, and they had run out by then. Ordered alternative, took the order and then came back to say 'sorry - we have none'.

Food that we did get wasn't as good either. Got stroppy with us when we complained - never again!
