Alf Hartigan Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Murray's win today, or rather the manner of it, will give him that extra edge in his next Major final. He has exercised some demons today, and will definitely go on to win at least one Major. Bolty, your hatred of him is irrational and I think you know that really. Quote

Your use of the word 'hatred' is the thing which is irrational. Strong dislike is more accurate. If you scroll back up the thread, I think you'll find there are others who wish him more ill than myself!!! By the way matey - demons are 'exorcised'. I now have a vision of little devils in jogging kit. Quote
maaarsh Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Very sad to see Ennis' empty lane there. Frankly she has at least 18 months to drink and eat what she likes and it really wouldn't matter too much. Meanwhile the 'British Number 1' qualified in a time much slower than Ennis t'other day. Quote
birch-chorley Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 the one we have all been waiting for is just starting womens shotput Quote
maaarsh Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 why has she not run? Satisfied with heptathlon gold, wanted to go on the piss - is a paraphrase of her actual reasons. Quote

But that would have, to some extent, disturbed other competitors. Instead he toed the line, dropped back from the start and walked off within 200m, causing no problem to any other competitor. Quote
DazBob Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 (edited) Shocking. Absolutely shocking. Poor fella. I said the other day that booting out the chinks was setting a dangerous precedent. This is just beyond ridiculous. ... yet the GBR bike riders can get away with admitting they crashed their bikes on purpose to get the race re-started?? Edited August 6, 2012 by DazBobParr Quote

maaarsh Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 (edited) Watching the women's boxing. British world champion and world number 1 needs to win 1 fight to get a medal. Swinging like a drunk after 2 minutes effort and loses it. Pathetic. Meanwhile, gold in the team show jumping! EDIT - a little hasty- need the dutch to cock up Edited August 6, 2012 by maaarsh Quote

maaarsh Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Following on from Miami's comparisons of olympians and footballers. This was a decent read. http://www.football3.../John-Nicholson I do think footballers are getting a lot of unfair stick. If a football choked as badly as Adlington, Hansen and Shearer would be calling them out big time. Balding made 1 little comment and then spent the rest of the night apologising and saying how great Adlington is, after a frankly terrible performance. Quote
