January 8, 201313 yr one i've never watched but comes recommended is the corner (sort of prequel to the wire) only about 6 hours I tried to watch it once, but only got as far as middle of episode 2. It is truly grim viewing. Lots of actors from The Wire. I will try it again sometime. I would recommend the book Homicide - A Year On The Killing Streets by David Simon. You'll recognise a lot of names and situations from The Wire. It's a great read. Harrowing, but also lots of the Bunk, Mcnulty style humour from The Wire. Edited January 8, 201313 yr by kaydan

January 12, 201313 yr it got me from 15 minutes into the first episode the twists and turns make it pretty intense as it goes on and things happening relating back to other things that happened 20 episodes before great writing
January 12, 201313 yr I got series 1-4 for Christmas after reading similar threads. Knew it was a slow starter so had to stick with it but well worth it for a great series. Love uncle Hank and Walts evil side!

I thought the last half was only going to be aired later this year, which is why I've not watched it since Series 4. I want to do it all in one big stint. So, is the full series 5 out there..?
