Interesting Stats From Ladbrokes

I know you can prove anything with statistics, but these make an interesting view on the forthcoming season.

Is 7's the best price available, have we been any higher at all close season?

to win it ryski?

we were 10-1 with betfair earlier on...

nice cheary peace to get us in the mood

lets hope they are right

The subtext to those stats says we didn't do well enough at home to our fellow strugglers.

10pts from 6 games isn't/wasn't enough IMO.

Pro-rata would give us around 95 points - I will take that.

anything less than 100 points 100 goals coyle out.

If Todd hadn't subbed Branny in the last minute at Tranmere...............Todd out!

Until we know if key players are going to be around for the season I would not touch 7s with a barge pole, if the 3 players linked with moves stay and Coyle keeps the team spirit and a sensible formation we will piss it.

I think it was Miami talking about odds for us going unbeaten - did you get any ?

With this squad, we should walk promotion. Almost every game we'll be favourites and expected to win, anything but promotion will be a failure and this club won't get a better chance at going up for a while.

If you're talking about instant promotion after relegation, then historically, those odds aren't bad - but to be Champions?

Saying as nobody else has done it and Malcolm seems to be on a night off, the 'straight back up' record of the Premiership:

92 93 n/a

93 94 Palace, Forest

94 95 n/a

95 96 Leicester

96 97 us

97 98 Forest, 'Boro

98 99 n/a

99 00 Charlton

00 01 n/a

01 02 Man City

02 03 Leicester

03 04 West Brom

04 05 n/a

05 06 n/a

06 07 Birmingham

07 08 n/a

08 09 Birmingham

09 10 Newcastle, West Brom

10 11 n/a

11 12 West Ham

59 Promotion places contested for in total (inc. final season of Div. 1, plus the year only us & 'Boro went up).

14 'bouncebacks' by 10 teams - Including us, which is a good omen surely?

Arguably making 5.9 to 1 chance of promotion, going off past seasons?

A lot on here are deluded.

Those who said the team and squad were good enough last year were deluded. they were lucky that wolves and blackburn imploded. We have the same non triers in a league of effort and triers.

This has the smell of 1980 all over. Half way at best. Worst team in terms of the opposition in the same division since the charlie wright years. Each player on paper looks good in a team with much better players. By that I mean Whitlow was a hero but its because he was the weakest link in a strong chain and thus lifted his game.

We now have a full team of Whitlows.

My prediction is now nailed to the mast!

Our 1st team is better than it was last season, and in a lower league.

You will struggle to find a front 2, midfield and even now a defence that is good on paper as ours in the whole league.

The big question is whether the clown in charge can manage these players well enough to get us back up. IMO if we don't get back up straight away then it will be solely down to Coyle and his staff as the players are more than good enough for the decision.

What an absolute load of shite.

I wish you'd put the "We now have a full team of Whitlows" at the start so I could've stopped reading then.

oh dear, i think some are in for a shock on here.

West Ham scraped up last year with a very good squad and a much better Manager.

I wouldn`t go as far as to say we won`t go up but the suggestion we will be top by Saturday night and won`t move from that spot is way off the mark for me

I call bullshit.

They got relegated to fuck and then signed the likes of O'Brien, Vaz Te, Faye and Morrison.

They finished 3rd with a point score that would have won the league in some previous seasons.

They had a run of home games where they turned wins into draws towards the end of the season.

Had their much better manager got them sorted they'd have at least finished second.

West Ham didn't struggle their problem was they coasted thinking they were nailed on for promotion.

the reasons are irrelevant. theres always reasons (excuses). they only just went up and thats a fact.

you can rhyme off a number of `reasons` why we went down but we went down.

is anyone suggesting Fat Sam isn`t a much better Manager than OC? <Shakes head in disbelief>

interesting to see the bookies still make us 2nd favourites at 8-1.

We should be about 16-1 by the end of the week when we have 4 points from 9

So the bookies dont have us as a relegated pile of shite with a shite clueless manager after 1 bad performance?

? no they have us as 2nd favourites

So the bookies dont have us as a relegated pile of shite with a shite clueless manager after 1 bad performance?

But then the bookies don't watch us play - they just go off reputations and relative probabilities.

40-1 to be relegated with ladbrokes

its like printing money.
