September 11, 201213 yr Fair comment although, in context, their fans at the same time will be singing about fucking your sister. I don't really sing at football anyway.
September 11, 201213 yr I don't really sing at football anyway. What do you do then? Whistle or hummmmm?
September 11, 201213 yr With reference to Munich, that is more a reference to the exploitation rather than the tragedy. Oh, come on Carlos, surely you don't believe that. As Zico has pointed out, words such as "Who's that dying on the runway" are hardly aimed at anyone's exploitation of anything. No matter how much we detest their fans, and quite rightly so, to use an event where not only sportsmen but unaffiliated reporters and airline crew lost there lives as a way of getting their backs up is disgusting IMO. You then point out that they accuse us of shagging our sisters - isn't that what we do to Blackburn and Burnley (and Wigan to a lesser extent)? Most unbelievably though was seeing a couple of posts saying it;s okay for us to refer to Munich as it's simply banter. Fucking hell. Banter?? I wonder how those posters would feel if, and thank God, Buddha, Ganesh and whoever, Muamba had died that day on the pitch at White Hart Lane. Would it be acceptable for opposition fans to sing about it to us and we'd accept it all in the name of banter? Would we fuck! I remember how angry folk got when the Red Issue were spouting off about Muamba ... and that was because he lived! Just imagine if he'd died! No doubt someone will come along and have a pop at me for that last paragraph and say how distasteful it is. Anyone who does think that yet still think it's okay to refer to the red scum as DMBs is a hypocrite. Personally, whilst I don't agree with it and wouldn't do it myself, if anyone thinks it's fine to refer to Munich then I'd never try and stop them. Ultimately it's a supposedly free country and I'm fully aware that their fans reference some of their songs to the likes of Hillsborough and the Leeds fans who died in Turkey, so their fans can hardly claim to be the innocent party. All I'm saying is if those of you out there are happy to use the references you do all in the name of 'banter' then you have absolutely no morale ground whatsoever for any distasteful comments that come back the other way.
September 11, 201213 yr Is it not about context? I may use the ambiguous phrase DMB on here, I know what I mean, and that M could equal mean Manc. I don't use it on an open football forum, down the pub, or sing Munich songs in the face of someone related to one of the people involved. Even if it was 55 years ago, so they will actually be few and far between.
September 11, 201213 yr What about refraining 'in the snow...' in a silly voice? Does that count? The whole faux 'words of an innocent' thing is getting tired now - that's what this thread is about, isn't it? Edited September 11, 201213 yr by Youri McAnespie

Even if it was 55 years ago, so they will actually be few and far between. Pretty much so. I think that for most of us on here (and despite the sheer lunacy going on every day, we're probably the most reasoned BWFC forum) DMB has just become the lazy acronym for a United fan. I don't think all Liverpool fans are murderers, nor do all Leeds fans shag sheep: it has just, rightly or wrongly, become a term used on here.
September 11, 201213 yr So has anyone actually answered numbnuts question which I took as 'why is it ok to mock Munich but not Bradford?' Fair enough question to me is that. Varying answers and opinions of course, but I think the lad asks a valid question.
September 11, 201213 yr I think the general consensus is that it's as equally wrong to mock Munich and anyone doing so is a simple fuckwit.
September 11, 201213 yr But people do mock Munich. Regularly. On here too. And not many complain. So what's the difference? TMMITFM
September 11, 201213 yr But people do mock Munich. Regularly. On here too. And not many complain. So what's the difference? TMMITFM We don't hate Bradford.
September 11, 201213 yr I think the general consensus is that it's as equally wrong to mock Munich and anyone doing so is a simple fuckwit. I thought I'd read it's fine to mock Munich as its only banter ... however if anyone IS offended, then we're absolved of any guilt because we kept quiet at Old Trafford during the anniversary.

Loads didnt go up to their seats that day. And who remembers the racket coming for the Burnden paddock they day we played Tranmere when Matt Busby died?
September 11, 201213 yr But people do mock Munich. Regularly. On here too. And not many complain. So what's the difference? TMMITFM Here's the difference; it's right underneath a video of people dying. Any right minded person is shocked by that, I've seen it once and I'm not watching it again. You have to be wired up wrong if that's the FIRST thing that comes into your head AND you blert it out.
September 11, 201213 yr There are very clear differences between Bradford and Munich, but none more so than the fact that the Bradford fire happened to fans (just like us) at a time when probably over 50% on this board were attending matches Ergo that "it could've been us" feeling The Munich thing was before many on here were even born and doesn't naturally connect with us - an icy runway; in Germany; to players we've never seen play It's alot more disconnected isn't it. Just in the way that we were collectively so involved with the Muamba situation because he was one of ours and we were used to watching him every week (or at least moaning why we weren't maybe). This is why secondarily Spurs fans felt connected to it and then on to the footballing world It doesn't make Munich chants big, clever or right, but the same? No, of course not. And that doesn't start on the post 58 cup final shenanigans / hatred of them lot etc etc I suspect that every knows this though don't they And DMB for me is just the new "rag" from the 90's; if folk don't like it fair enough, but it's hardly pissing on Duncan Edwards' grave is it.
September 11, 201213 yr See what you fail to see,is that Diddles is alot brighter than people give him credit for. He knows exactly what hes doing when he posts such a shit-stirring comment. He knows full well, people will bite and all hell will break loose,he fucking loves it. Ive said it before and Il say it again,Hes by far the best fisherman on this board, and has every fucker eating out of the palm of his hand...myself included. And who the fuck are you anyway, his older brother?...hes 20+ year old man,old enough to post wind up/distasteful comments on an internet forum, old enough to take the flak for it,its all a game. On The Gary speed thing, this site is one of the most read Bolton Wnaderers forum on the Net,and slap bang in the mourning of his tragic death,Diddles shove one his wind up posts right in the middle of people far and wide offering their respects for a Bolton Club legend who had just killed himself. It wasnt what he posted,it was is timing and totally disrespected the thread full of people offering their respect.Theres a time and place for posts like that, and that was totally the wrong time. The Bradford fire thing, was just another incident of this,on a far smaller scale, but he knew exactly what he was doing. On one big fishing trip. He knows exactly the bullets hes firing,he loves it. Would I want him kicking off the board though?...would I fuck,it all part of the game. Egg-fucking-zactly.
September 11, 201213 yr Have a +1 Jules. Spot on. Irrespective of those, admittedly few, who defend him, I believe Diddles is cuntish in his behaviour on here from time to time and gets the flak he deserves seeks. He comes out with his inflammatory bollocks because he is a sad fucker who craves attention. This was one of those occasions. Anybody who believes that Bolton fans actually revel in the Munich tragedy is either deranged or completely misguided. I was brought up to despise that sham 'football club' and will to the day I die. Doesn't mean that I don't act respectfully on the anniversary of the tragedy. As Jules said, DMB is just the most recent form of rag. Merely a taunt. I still struggle with the fact that some of you don't have the DMB's at the top of the 'dislike' list. It's unBoltonian, that's what it is. My grandad would be mortified.
September 11, 201213 yr Here's the difference; it's right underneath a video of people dying. Any right minded person is shocked by that, I've seen it once and I'm not watching it again. You have to be wired up wrong if that's the FIRST thing that comes into your head AND you blert it out. Gotcha, that's fair enough and well explained. However I dont think it would have made any difference if he'd waited a day or so. Personally I think he's an easy target; yes he makes himself one by being a prick sometimes (beit deliberate or not) but most of us are guilty of that (a lot of the stuff I write is purposely to wind up the lefties when in actual fact I have a huge socialist side to me as well!) but I think this is turning into a bit of a witchhunt meself.
September 11, 201213 yr I think Diddles is fully aware of what he posts. For the amount of grief and insults he gets on here you'd think he'd shy away from posting abut certain things ... but he doesn't ever do that. That makes me think he's either extremely simple or he's the best wind-up on here - I'm tempted to go with the latter. That still doesn't excuse some of the bare-faced hypocrisy shown by others IMO. September 11, 201213 yr Author I don't type things that are intended wind-up's, I said sorry about the Gary Speed post, sorry I posted it in that particular thread, I asked a question in the Bradford thread because an other tragedy came to my mind as I typed and was curious, I admitted to probably thinking the worst of certain members, however I only said what I did because of things that others have said. Controversial and cuntish? not by choice, I was simply asking if people's opinions had changed because of a death, did it take Gary Speed taking his own life to not be what some members said he was. My mistake was asking in the mix of a r.i.p/tragedy thread and I apologized. I like using this forum, despite of certain things, I got a month ban when I posted about Gary Speed, I like talking about Bolton and this is the only forum I use now, I wouldn't post things intentionally to wind people up, I may do some jokey stuff, but usually use a smiley or put things in hidden white text and then I can show I was just joking. I've seen a lot of bad things on here, may even be an attention seeker (like my YouTube videos for example) but I'm not the only one and I don't say the stuff others do.
September 11, 201213 yr I agree with DBP about the DMBs. Very good - am I the only one who clocked it!? Edited September 11, 201213 yr by jeep
