November 17, 201213 yr I'm seeing nowt different now as to 4 weeks ago. And that is worrying. All the more so as we saw in the second half against Cardiff what we could do. The best 45 minutes we've played for ages and we haven't seen that line up since. Now, can someone who knows more about the game than me, explain that to me. Because frankly, I'm baffled.
November 17, 201213 yr May have already been mentioned but, ive not read this thread since this morning. We battered em! We should have buried our chances. It felt like we had ten shots on target, they all went straight to the keeper though. We looked solid enough int first half, I couldnt see Barnsley scoring until they actually did!
November 17, 201213 yr I don't think he played wide left any more than I think Eagles played wide right. inside forwards? (who had to defend but didn't)
November 17, 201213 yr first of all, i'm as frustrated as anybody however, we had more than enough chances/shots to win 3 games today...davies m had 3 shots on target....eagles should've had two goals...a decent striker would've had 3, not the one davies actually got it would be better if we shot away from the keeper rather than straight at him their cf davies is miles better than our cf davies other observations if lee was a young kid he'd be getting dogs abuse - he is currently shit davies has to be dropped our defenders are worse than me with the ball if petrov is fit, i'm amazed he's not on the bench butterfield will get better....surely and the goalkeeper?
November 17, 201213 yr The squad and players are fine keep saying it if it makes you feel better. For me its been shit for the last 18 months. We keep adding mediocrity.
November 17, 201213 yr keep saying it if it makes you feel better. For me its been shit for the last 18 months. We keep adding mediocrity. In which case, every point and every goal should be a bonus and you have nothing to moan about

The 2nd half performance against Cardiff was all about the impact N'Gog made. He is an enigma, an erratic individual who has severe motivational and application problems. It's baffled the French national managers, Benitez, Dalglish, Coyle and now DF. He was brilliant that 2nd half against Cardiff and subsequently DF has gone on to start with him when available. He has simply cant, whatever his position, perform on a consistent basis. A bit of a nightmare for any manager.

Stick him out on the wing, piss poor management don't care how long Feedman been here its not an excuse.

November 17, 201213 yr Played him up front last week, was he any better? He battled away with no support last week, kept the back 4 reasonably occupied and never saw any quality ball, today he was clearly out on a limb and the position did not suit in effect we were 4-5-1 at home with a 15second 100 metre striker up top on his own, freedman should have changed it after 25 minutes a good manager would have sorted it, that's a worry he ain't a good manager on the little I have seen.

Fair enough. I didn't go to Blackpool, shit fan, and was only able to draw on the comments of Phil Brown and Jack Dearden who weren't too complimentary about the inconsistent Frenchman Can't help but think you are making an irrational judgement of DF so early in his tenure.
November 17, 201213 yr Not sure a good manager would get any response from our squad, if we had ferguson, moyes or mancini in charge would we really be doing any better. the one thing we have to do is give dougie time. its common knowledge that he is student of the italian game, we just dont have the players for that type of football, palace, cardiff and boro are a million miles a head of us. hopefuly this time next year we will start to see us challenge at the top.

I don't do irrational, just commenting from what I have seen and it might be 2plus 2 = 5, I might be completely wrong and hope I am, but alarm bells are already ringing for me, some of my worries are as follows, drops spearing mysteriously despite doing little wrong, plays KD first few games then drops him for Blackpool then reinstates him today and bangs Ngog out wide, Pratley comes on at Blackpool and he makes a great impact then drops him back to the bench today and he does not get on, Petrovs like the Hokey Cokey in out in out and then wide on the right instead of natural position on left, continues with Andrews when it's clear Spearing can do the holding roles and do much more than Andrews, plays a not fit Butterfield alongside a similar player in Mark Davies, I think he has got so much wrong already I'm worried.
November 17, 201213 yr i hope we sign spearing when his loan is up. he is very good at this level and if we went up he would still be a great asset. he shows more passion than the rest of them put together and his distribution and ability to break up play is very good
November 17, 201213 yr I thought spearing was poor today. He kept giving the ball away? Bringing on a defensive midfielder 1:0 up with ten mins to go, yes 2:0 up with 30 mins to go, may be? 1:0 up with 30 mins to go, why??? Edited November 17, 201213 yr by worthy10

Bringing on a defensive midfielder 1:0 up with ten mins to go, yes 2:0 up with 30 mins to go, may be? 1:0 up with 30 mins to go, why??? it was a straight swap i don't get the issue he could've put pratley on, taht would've gone down like a lead balloon as it was, he kept the shape exactly as it was its definitely frustrating and we do need to win home games against teams like barnsley, but our failure to win today was not down to formations it was about not scoring enough from our many good chances
November 17, 201213 yr I didn't drink today i drunk tonight, I'm drunk but I love bolton We should neet Barnsley we didn't be as much as iwas disappointed we didn't lose
November 17, 201213 yr For those who went, is butterfield the saviour? Did he play on the wing? I never knew he was a fecking winger? Is he better than wylde or lee or petrov or a defensive 'winger' like Riley or alonso?
November 17, 201213 yr he played as an attacking midfielder i think its safe to say theres more to come you'd hope so, anyway his best moment came 10 seconds before he was subbed
November 18, 201213 yr My point about the substitution is this. The on loan lad is twice the footballer than the lad that replaced him. He is an attacking player. His last touch was a great cross that Andrews would never have created. Independently agreed amongt my mates Im sorry but kieth Andrews really is rubbish. He may be fit and that according to rumours is optimum for getting in the team? But he is bobbins in my humble opinion. He must be on about £20k. You know how it is when you have a downer in a player but I for one need some convincing
November 18, 201213 yr Andrews would be worth his weight in gold if it meant playing others in correct positions. If the inclusion of Andrews allowed m Davies to play Att mid and eagles and petrov to play on the wings then sorted.
