The club has been running similar deals for years now - if there's anyone who tipped up for a half season ticket thinking it was going to be Cat A all the way for the other mugs, they want their head looking at.

Anyone parting with £225 for a half season ticket was clearly a fool and should have known that the product they purchased would be seriously undervalued in the weeks to come.

 

Maybe I shall bear that in mind when the Club sends me the renewal forms asking me to spunk money up front for something I can get much cheaper later on.

 

I shall try that tonight with the gas bill. I'll change my direct debit to a fiver a month in full anticipation of the bill being dramatically reduced in February.

 

 

The club is doing its best to fill the ground when it would otherwise be empty - they'd be getting slated by the same folk if they'd done nowt and let the gates dwindle down to 12,000.

 

Maybe they should have sold the 12 game half season ticket for say £100 then because overall thats what they are valuing their product at. Again, I'll bear this in mind in May when they want some more money.

Exactly. The largest problem they've got is current ST holders who think the world owes them something. You've got your seat guaranteed, no pissing about, get to buy away tickets first and when we get to Wembley, guess who gets 2 tickets each!

 

And this offer is only open to season ticket holders! The once in a lifetime opportunity to buy cheap North Stand wing tickets for Bolton v Peterborough in January, a game that would normally sell out weeks in advance.

 

When the ground is full and away followings dont go to open sale, and if we ever even get within touching distance of Wembley again, then it'll be worth it. But thats not going to happen.

 

In the 15 or 20 years that I've held a season ticket, rarely has it been of much use for any of those things. Carling Cup and the last year at Burnden perhaps for away games, apart from that I can't think of any other benefit.

 

And what I dont get is why the offer is open to season ticket holders? They've got a ticket. Why the fuck do they want 2? Is it so they can put their feet up or fetch a hamper?

 

It's saving someone else money (folk who would possibly be going anyway and paying full price) at the expense of the club.

This season so far the marketing dept really need to work their magic! Empty seats galore and very unlikely to be any day trippers given our predicament.

 

The only option is to virtually give away the seats with offers and category C's galore which may encourage next years potential S/T holders but upset this years. Not an issue because this years will mostly return because its a way of life for the adults and the current kids are for nothing.

 

Look to the future BWFC.

 

OR get your staff on a basic retail or marketing course.

 

You won't lose what you have (especially the over 30's) because its a way if life, but you can attract more younger people.

I think Big E worked it out a few seasons ago that you dont pay much more by buying individually than full whack season ticket given these types of discount. Take out the odd game you might have to miss and its not VFM.

 

I know this but if I didnt have a season ticket theres fucking no way id be dealing with the ticket office week in week out and /or waking up hungover on a saturday and thinking "ill go to the match".

 

It just wouldnt happen, I assume thats the case for a lot of others too.
