Its easy to look at the video now in slow mo, se the kids twitter, chairmans son, age, whatever. None of that, not a fucking drop of it went through Hazards head at that split second. If it was Court, none of the mitigating circumstances would be worth a shiny shit.

 

Whether he got the boy and ball, the boy, the ball, whatever he did or didnt get he just swung his boot at a ball boy and fuck the consequences.

From the clip it looks like the kid is lay on the ball and Hazard has kicked the ball out from under him in order to get it back. He's not kicked the ball by accident. It was there, he kicked it.

 

I'd not say he's "lashed out".

 

(I'm not saying he was right to do it)

I've been going to football a while now but if kicking a ball boy is now acceptable I think I'll pack it in.

I dont care what the lad was doing, the referee and officials are there to deal with that.

If it was a Man Utd ballboy doing the same against us, what would we all be saying?

To be fair, I didn't see the full game and just watched the incident on Youtube, so can someone put it into a bit of context for me.

 

What I see is the ball go out of play and the ball boy walk towards it to pick it up. Hazard runs after him and pushes him over. The lad falls onto the ball. Hazard has a look and then pretty much just kicks him in the ribs.

 

Had this lad been timewasting in the run up to the event or was this his 'first offence'? Cos to be honest, if my team were 2-0 with 10 minutes to go in a cup semi final, I doubt I'd have been in a massive hurry to retrieve the ball, especially when I was 17.

 

Incidentally, have you ever seen the abuse meeted out to boy balls who seem to be in a hurry to get the ball back to the opposition from their own fans? Even the players discourage it. Jussi used to be the worst for bollocking over efficient ball boys.

I would not disagree with that as it is well documented that many clubs tell their ball boys to take their time if their team is winning.

Players cannot take matters into their own hands though.
