There's a time for testing out youngsters, which isn't when you are at the business end of the season, ideally. Davies is being paid good money and with him leaving and on the look out for a new club, has a point to prove. Discounting him completely seems silly.

 

I don't think he has anything to prove to any club that may be interested in him, I'm sure they know what he can do, plus when was the last time he scored and when was the last time he assisted

In that case wouldn't it be a gamble to try that at the business end of the season?

Not many occasions I admit,but we can say the same about sordell and Tom eaves,both have done fuck all for us this season for various reasons.

 

I'm saying if we are talking about 100 percent footballing reasons,there's now way Kevin Davies should not be at least on the bench and coming on today to sure things up.

Great move for him and his family, brilliant lifestyle over there, whatever your opinion of him and his wife Bolton has lost a great money raiser and a friend of the town, its a sad sad end and it should have been handled much better by both parties.

Bolton have made a habit of falling out with departing stars over the past decade..and then replaced them with lower quality.

Davies was one of those who regularly attended the club functions, he was a good man.He'll get a warm reception if he ever comes back to do the half time lottery.I hope he hasn't fallen out with Bolton for good over this.

I'm certainly not one for defending Davies, only that we probably need an experienced 'body' as we go into playoffs in case we get another injury up front.

 

But if Dougie thinks we're better off without him, he knows best.
