Kevin Davies

Linked with sheff wed according to the Ben. I'd be suprised if he's allowed to go before end of the season?

BWFC are a multi million pound business and SKD has earnt himself Millions of pounds at the club   And folk are moaning about him being told on his birthday   Fucking seriously??   Who gives a s

  • Jesus christ, I don't know where to start with some of the shit in this thread but this seems as good as any.   You seem to have described the modern day 'SKD' when trying to describe Craig Davies.

  • I'll remember him for being a legend. I hope everyone else does.

Surely we're only paying half his wages until June 30th?

Which is what I was saying "yep" to in my post :D

Nowt but fond memories of SKD for me; still him going appears best for all parties

Because he should've been given another year, a coaching job, a testimonial and a stand named after him.

Unless you subscribe to the above you're a 'hater' ... or so it would seem.

If he goes to Toronto and scores in his first couple of games you'll have knob saying, "See!! Told you, we should've given him another year." MMW.

Thanks, Kev

Bye now

A cynic would suggest the 'no new deal' scenario was then deliberately manipulated, allowing an untenable situation to develop, and subsequently enable a move sooner rather than later?

A shit way to end things, but, I don't see the club at fault here - like DazBob said - what else could've been done? There'd have probably been Twitter bleating whichever way it was handled, attention seekers are apt to do shite like that - especially when they see the limelight/attention shifting (not referring to KD here).

I don't think SKD needs any revisionism regarding his status though. Hopefully, as many others have alluded to, when this has blown over only fond memories will remain.

Oh aye, a final word - when someone splits up they often get friends or family coming out with "I always thought they were a dick." - which is really helpful after the fact.

If he ever splits up with his wife at least around 15,000 folk will be able to look him in the face. :)

nah, see I think it's more the other way

Coyle and DF both picked him more often than not and for some reason saw him as one of the better options we had, rightly or wrongly, yet people seem to now forgot all he's ever done on and off the pitch, and are glad to see the back of him

his wife hasn't helped, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't be given a bit more respect for what he's done for us

See, I'm glad he's going. I thought this season prior to this fallout, we were a poorer team when he was in it.

However, that doesn't mean I'll ever forget the (just short of) 10 years' service and great memories he's given us. I'd say (and hope) there aren't many who have forgotten what he's given us.

As Youri has said above, it's the sour ending that will be forgotten and it'll be the fond memories that'll be lasting.

What I can't be doing with though is that anyone who is thankful to him for his time here, yet appreciates it's time he moved on, is somehow being disrespectful.

Typical conversation...

"I see Kevin Davies is leaving".

"Yeah, it's a shame, but it's the right decision. His legs have gone and he no longer offers the aerial threat that he used to"

"WHAT??? HOW FUCKING DARE YOU!!! HE USED TO BULLY EVRA, HE SCORED IN MUNICH AND HE PLAYED ON WITH A DISLOCATED FINGER ONCE. YOU HEARTLESS BASTARD!!! ARRGGHH. ANGER IS ME. SNARL"

Emma loves a bit of attention though. Twitter ban should apply to the wags aswell.

You misssed out the following bit which is generally tagged on the end..

"FOR ALL HIS SERVICE HE SHOULD HAVE AT LEAST BEEN GIVEN ANOTHER YEAR AND A COACHING ROLL"

I remember being pissed off when Supa John moved on to Bradford, thought he should've been kept on etc. Thing is I was only relatively still a kid in my thinking then, not a mature adult like some of the 'shoddy treatment by BWFC' camp...

It's easy to project the club as villain in this - especially when playing the 'victim' card (regarding having all the family upheaval etc. associated with a move) thing is though, there's a quick solution to that, retirement*. It's SKD who wants to continue playing, other parties (meaning you know who) should consider this before tapping away loads of bollocks and undermining ten years of mutual love.

* Or dropping down the leagues/taking a pay cut, meaning the family could still live locally with no real disruption.

Davies doesn't need the money, and if his kids lost sleep about him not playing for Bolton anymore, how the fuck will they respond to being dragged thousands of miles so daddy can play for another 6 months?

Davies is staying to the end of the season and has pledged to give 100% if called upon to try and get us promotion

ITK

Can we all agree he's the best captain the club has had since the previous one?

yes,

yes,

yes

and yes.

4/4 well done, sir! :D

BWFC gave him the career oportunity he wouldn't have had elsewhere (probably) and he duly contributed, as he was paid to do. Whilst he was a good 'servant' he knew what side his bread was buttered on, and for a player of limited ability he did very well.

Legs gone and doesn't/can't contribute physically as he used to.

Thanks for the memories, now take the bleating bitch with you on the next adventure

Yeah, I'll buy into that too, probably some add-ons that are paid on top of the 'basic' he's on.

I'll also add that a testimonial would have been impossible if he was in Canada - and doing one later on wouldn't really work, as everyone would have moved on - and he might be at another British club once Canadian season over.

Either way, it'll be the club's fault.

Corrected it for you
