PrestonNobber Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 (edited) I went to a Preston v Blackpool derby in the 80s and there was over 60 arrest . There hatred they have for each other is immense . I was quite surprised with the amount of Blackpool lads that they turned out I often wondered why they never had that amount out when they played us , says it all really . Blackpool used to have a decent mob in the 80's - They had lads travelling with them from all over the country, who had gone to Blackpool on their weekend piss ups & got pally with the locals. There are a few old threads on AVFTT about 'characters' from other clubs, who used to run with them, back in the day. Throughout the 90's & especially the 00's they've done fuck all. Nothing. They've nothing to offer nowadays, except a couple of older lads, mixed in with clueless gobby shirters & scarfers. The rest are made up of OAP's, day trippers & face painted, wig wearing bellringers. I can't wait until we get our hands on 'em again. Edited April 28, 2013 by PrestonNobber Quote

Carlos Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Re PNE, I lived on St George's Road at uni and met a few at England games, Deepdale is a great location as if there's no one else, you can wander into Deepdale where the Asians are always game. Quote

Carlos Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Luxury compared to Moor Nook. Fucking hilarious that the locals thought they were hard, being from Tonge Moor I just shook my head at them. Quote
Traf Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Oufft! you poor bastard. Disgusting area. This with huge bells on! Inkerman Street, then Fylde Road and then Penwortham for me. Quote
Carlos Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 I ultimately moved to Penwortham, overlooking the river. Quote
Carlos Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 And Brookhouse Street near Inkerman! Regular in Brian's chippy. The year The Mill opened and sadly The Buzz closed. Quote
no balls Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 I hate Preston. There's something about that place. No one ever seems to smile or look like they've bothered checking out their appearance before they leave the house. Thank fuck I work further this way now. Quote

There are exceptions, of course. I'm no fucking Gok Wan, but I like to think I dress respectably. Quote

I know, it's a shame & until I worked there I didn't realise. Not a clue why it's like that though as there should be plenty of fashion students about to redress the balance. There was one bloke in Sainsbury, sadly I remember him as he looked so out of place in his linen pants, flip flops and a tight t-shirt. I acually followed him round the store. He clocked me Maybe Bolton town centre is like that too, I'd not know to be honest. Quote
The Wanderer Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 That Super Tony Ellis post has got my back up. The grammar is shocking! I was in peaces reading that too! Quote
anewman Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Some folk are getting far too worked up on their board. Strange, I'm sure I saw many Blackpool fans laid out on the road as me and my son strolled by as we went to maccy d's Quote
Krimzon Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 Blimey how did we cope when then Shopping Mall blocked the corner of the pitch at Burnden Park The same way we coped at bloomfield when you couldnt see the goal line from anywhere in the away terrace Quote
gonzo Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 Luxury compared to Moor Nook. Fucking hilarious that the locals thought they were hard, being from Tonge Moor I just shook my head at them. Worked with two lads from Moor Nook....they thought they were from down town Brooklyn or summet. Quote
DazBob Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 Ha Ha, I like this quote: we'll be standing firm ready and waiting for you bastards! TBF, that sounds more impressive than Gonzo and his merely semi-erect penis. Quote
cbwfcd Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 Blackpool are in good form. We'll shit 'em 4-0 Quote
