Why would they offer Groves more than than 15% if they already knew?

 

Theres an interview on IFL TV that has Hearn receiving the phone call (informing him of the IBF decision) mid interview (talking about the offer).

Like any transaction, you are willing to pay more to receive more. Having options on Groves has an awful lot of value for Eddie, and a rematch clause would have some value for Froch.

 

Carl seems far too keen to go make a fight with a middleweight. To be honest it wouldn't shock me if Groves didn't want the rematch as much as he says - there are easier title fights for him and his reputation has been made. Hard for anyway to walk away now without a major loss of face so hopefully it happens.

Good point, if that's the case it would be a very costly mistake wouldn't it.

 

As much as i like Amir i did wonder about the Mayweather fight, when you look at the likes of Bradley and Garcia (for example) you could argue they would be more deserving of getting the fight based on their consistent showings against quality opponents over the last two years.

Bad stoppage, feel for the other lad.  Great fight though, lost count of knock downs.

Woodhouse/Hamilton fight earlier was another cracker, great fight card tonight.

Just watched it via face time!!!! what a fkin fight, brilliant
