Site Supporter superjohnmcginlay Posted June 15, 2013 Site Supporter Share Posted June 15, 2013 Will these be a thing of the past? Been to one at Tempest tonight. Alex Stepney was the speaker and topic in conversation was how many if the current crop of stars do what he is doing? Probably none which is a shame,

Burndens Bogs
Maybe when their careers are over and they've gambled/boozed/jizzed/drugged all the money away, we might get to see some of the current crop doing a spot of after dinner speaking.I wouldn't hold my breath though

Krimzon
Best after dinner speaker I ever saw was at the end of Burnden thingy....I forget his name but he was an 80 yr old ex-submarine commander. The comic went on first cos he refused to follow him. He was the funniest man I have ever seen. And ive still got the Bolton Wanderers FC Mini bottle of Whiskey that was on every table seat.
