Internet And 3G

Featured Replies

The UK is a mile behind a supposed third word country (according to a few on here) in Romania when it comes to internet speed and mobile net coverage in my experience.

My house internet here is provided by a cable company and the downloads are 10 times the speed of the BT broadband service I have at home in Scotland.... I downloaded a 1.6GB film last night in about 15-20 minutes and it is reliable too. At home it's hit or miss whether I get download speeds in excess of 100kbps   here it is over 2MBps

Also the 3G coverage in Iasi is absolutely perfect.... at home on Orange it is sporadic to say the best... even in cities

So why can a poor country manage to provide great service when ours is shocking in comparison?

Well obviously not all third world countries have great 3G and Internet then :)

Cable = optical fibre, fast as fuck

Phone = copper wire, slow

3G, we have 4G now.

Aren't you just comparing Lasi with the shithole that you normally live in?

I have Virgin Broadband here at home, and it's fast as fuckery, my download speeds are always over 30Mb/s (I've just run a test and it's coming out at 31.48Mb/s at present)

With regards to 3G, I never seem to have a problem here where I live, again that's pretty quick in most places. I'm sure there are places in Romania where it isn't so great

Perhaps when you get back you ought to drag your caravan to a more civilised part of the British Isles where you will be able to pick up better coverage

I have a couple of mates who are on the EE 4G, now that is quick!

Do caravans have cable?

I'd rather live in Romania than that third world hovel scotland

Wasn't there a plan to cable up the entire country before the economy crashed? Forget HS2, the money would be better spent on improving broadband speeds.

My sexy james is wright again. We have the very faster internet speeding here which help to us improve our economy becorse we can all make SEXY myfreewebcam.com sites with much easyness in order to bring much foreiygn cash to our poor cuntry.

cams sites buffering like a bugger in scotchland?

You are the only one in Romania with a Computer, no wonder its fast!!!

At home it's hit or miss whether I get download speeds in excess of 100kbps

Sounds a bit shit that mate.  Does it depend on how many other caravans are on site and using the site wifi?

Shocking in comparison?  How bad was your connection in Scotcherland?

We are on 60MBs and a film takes 3-5 minutes.  We arent even on the quickest connection either.  I could double that with a quick phonecall.

Bloody hell Jazza, even in Adlington I get 3meg download and 2meg upload on 3G.  Those who live in city areas should get over 5meg D/L on 3G and 4G is more like 40meg plus.

I'm in the middle of the desert and have an excellent 4G signal

Daughters just moved onto that. Shit off a stick quick .

I was looking at EE recently but didn't want to gamble on orange and tmobile. So stuck with O2

Gamble? They're hardly rabbit phones. I used to be with O2. Utterly shit round here.

Had both. Pre merge. And they were shit in terms of signal.

Never had any issue with O2. Ever.
