Crazy that he lives not even 20 miles away, and he has never heard of these. Edited October 8, 201312 yr by Pablo
October 8, 201312 yr I love Black Peas as well, sadly they don't do them down south and folk look at me like I'm a weirdo when I mention them, they think I'm making it up. From memory, MickyD is the local black pea officionado

Crazy that he lives not even 20 miles away, and he has never heard of these. Butter pies I can't abide. Was up in Preston the other week though and saw a car with a sticker that said "No butter pies kept in this vehicle overnight". Oh how we laughed

October 8, 201312 yr Oh the memories of when the fair visited Bolton, sat on a wooden bench in the back of a canvas market type stall with a mug of hot black peas with my old dad. Parkin seemed compulsory around bonfire night, just can't get anything like it down south. Enjoy.

October 8, 201312 yr Never had a Carrs pasty and to my knowledge never had black peas. Had a few butter pies though, always thought it was more of a Chorley/Preston thing than Bolton.
