the point i'm making is that the team that demolished hull is no longer available to him so why anybody would take last season into account is beyond me

Except they are, or at least 6 of them are. The only ones that he may have wanted to keep but who are no longer available to him are Alonso and Dawson and one of those was a player you constantly criticised as being part of the 'mess' he inherited.

He wanted others too though but we were financially outmuscled by Barnsley and Burnley if I recall correctly.  Until he shifts the high earners I doubt he will be able to put together the squad he knows we need to get out of this league.

Think hinchcliff made a good point on sky said derby looked at what they needed and felt a hands on coaching manager would get a good squad playing better so went for McLaren

Not that old rubbish again. He's had the money. He chose to spend it on Beckford, Spearing and Hall, not to mention Baptiste's wages. He's brought in a dozen players in total. I doubt there's many other managers in this league that have had that luxury.

Personally I think the system is the main problem.

There was a comment on thread earlier that dougie's game plan was to outscore Leicester. If that's the case why did he start with 1 up top and 2 holding midfielders?

He's obsessed with playing 4231. Even when it's blindingly obvious that we are not suited to play this way. He's as stubborn as Coyle. Your suppose to learn from your mistakes, not keep making the same ones.

There have been some positive signs but I don't care how good he will be in 5 years, he needs to be good now. I don't want Bolton wanderers to be his learning curve.

how many of those games did you see?

i saw 95% of them and we were good enough to win plenty which is all that matters

the 3 on here that watch us at least as much as anybody else all posted that we played our part in a good game at the top of the league yesterday

so

what is it that we want

'playing shit' and winning or playing well and losing

you can't hit the manager for winning playing badly than chuck the toys out of the pram if we 'play well' and lose

I would agree with all this.

Not that my opinion matters, apparently.

Cas I went to all the away games in that run and a couple of home games including Blackpool

were did you think we played well?

Did you even read the post?

He said "playing shit and winning"... that doesn't translate to playing well at all. It translates to getting points on the board.

who do you think he has alienated?

more to the point, do you think anybody has been dropped when they could reasonably argue it to be unfair?

Wheater, dumped unceremoniously, not fit but why start him in the first place after injury, does DF not have fitness stats?

Beckford dumped unceremoniously after missing 2-3 good opportunities.

Baptiste shoved all over the place then had a mare at Wigan playing out of position then Dougie on the Monday after the game shouted loud that we needed a left back, Freedman did not need to say anything every one could see that Baptiste was doing his best to help the team and DF thoughts did not need to be made public, since then baptiste looked disinterested when we scored at home the other week.

Eagles is a match winner and should feature at some stage in every game, Freedman often says he's a match winner in the paper, but leaves him out of the team more than he should, consequently Eagles looks like he's seeing his contract out.

Medo, shown his displeasure at being subbed or was he just angry with himself anyhow Dougie then takes him out of the team for a number of games, strange when Spearing is the one out of the two who's been disappointing.

There's others I think been handled poorly, I look at the players and I don't see any spilling blood for the cause . Don't see many players if any playing on par, I put that down to the management.

I would be more than happy playing shit but getting to play offs

Snoop you are a complete tosser

DID YOU READ THE POST?

He said 'I saw most and we were good enough to win them'

Did they deport you for being so thick?

OK ok ok ok. Take a step back.

In which language does 'I saw most and we were good enough to win them' translate to 'we played well in most games'. We could play 2/10 in most if the opposition play 1/10, and you can't say we played well. I mean, I know that's very simple maths and you probably dropped out of school but come on, my 6 year old niece can understand that level of comparison.

It appears I was 'deported' for not being thick enough. Tosser.

dumped unceremoniously or explained that in the managers opinion it was time for a break - is wheater unfit or is there something else

you don't know, i don't know

just cos freedman doesn't tell all and sundry why he makes his decisions doesn't mean he doesn't explain them to the players

maybe he should let you in on his thinking ;)

baptiste has not been 'shoved all over the place'

he's played left back and right back

after wigan, he didn't say 'baptiste was shite' he said he'd made some mistakes in the summer and that had left us short of cover and we needed to get a 'proper' left back

i suspect baptiste agrees

i like eagles but he's broken no pots this season - cos hes playing bad? or is he playing bad cos hes often left out - last interview i saw with eagles he said he's had a nagging injury that he just now felt he'd got over

every point you make is easily countered

its possible i'm wrong, just as possible taht you are

you are bloody dramatic with all this unceremoniously bollocks :)

he's known beckford years and i'm sure the two of em are both big enough to deal with any issues like grown ups

After offering very little going forward all season, does anyone really think dougies game plan was to outscore the league leaders?

you don't know, i don't know

But we do know that he gave him a new contract before consigning him to the bench and then trying to loan him out. More money wasted.

Which 'facts' have i got wrong? He's brought in a dozen players hasn't he? A complete reshuffle of the pack.

only if hes a baker

you don't see that while hes paying players who he doesn't rate to sit on the bench or worse, his ability to bring in the players he wants is restricted?

Many of which are players he signed. So now he doesn't rate his own players?

He has brought in players. I thought we'd already established that. If he doesn't want them why did he sign them? We'll be in the top six spenders in terms of both transfer fees and wages this season.

You also missed Dawson, and Mason, the latter being a case in point. He signs two strikers in Davies, and Beckford, but chooses to play loan signing Mason. From the outside it looks like he doesn't back his own choices, and internally that's pretty soul destroying to the two not playing. I'm afraid this doesn't inspire any confidence in the manager

Many of which are players he signed. So now he doesn't rate his own players?

again, my memory isn't the best, which ones isn't he playing

craig davies and?

He's not helping himself playing CYL. I swear that twat is doing his best to get Dougie sacked, he was abysmal again on Sunday and I've no idea how he stayed on the pitch for 90 mins.

As for the rest of the game it was a weird one, in parts we looked very good, got the ball down, played it through midfield, found Moritz in tonnes of space and that caused them all sorts of problems.

On the other hand their threat was soooo fucking obvious and we did nothing about it. All they did was hit the wings, we knew they would do it yet we set up with CYL and Hall on the wings? Baptiste had a mare but you've got to feel sorry for him with 1 of them 2 supposedly playing in front of him.

We looked good in parts, they got lucky in parts, we shot ourselves in the foot a lot. There's a team in there somewhere, especially with Davies coming back but the full back and wing areas need sorting the day that fucking window opens because we are far too easy to attack.

Moritz is different class in this league but a bit of a luxury.

Beckford doesn't offer everything but will score if we create for him and is the best we've got.

Also why do we chase the game and panic if we go a goal behind with 15/20 mins still to go. Every time we lose all shape, bypass the midfield, don't hold on to the ball and do the exact opposite of what we are trying. We become far too easy to play against and teams just hold on to the ball. Fair enough if we had 2 mins to go but we do it with big chunks of the game left, we had a better chance of scoring v Leicester if we stayed as we were rather than put 4 up top and go for it.

yes, he got it wrong

i've said that on more than one occasion

Totally agree with Horwich-we had 3 chances and put all three in for once-shame about the other end
