Just had someone in my office 'sounding off' about this year's bonus. Turns out he's getting 7.6% of his annual salary as a bonus instead of 8%. He's moaning because this 0.4% was completely out of his control (due to global lost employee hours). I told him he should be grateful he's getting anything.
There's far more people get fuck all apart from a bottle of wine or a M&S voucher at Christmas. There's plenty more who haven't even had a cost of living pay increase for years.
Working for a big company definitely has it's perks, but fuck me, the lot who are still here from the old and union-ruled days aren't half a bunch of cunts. I remember when I first joined and it was the first year in a generation where they'd received zero bonus. They were kicking off to fuck saying it was a disgrace.
