April 6, 201412 yr I wonder where we would be if we couldn't get that money from ED to generate such a debt. I dread to think.
April 6, 201412 yr I wonder where we would be if we couldn't get that money from ED to generate such a debt. I dread to think. 18th int Championship?
April 6, 201412 yr It's time we had some clarity from the club as to what is the plan, I know they don't have to say diddly but the fans deserve to know.
April 6, 201412 yr Then there's the 10 year noticeExactly, it will be converted as he'll either wanna sell or clear the debt as no one would pay for us with that debt. Not worried in the slightest
April 6, 201412 yr "Bolton's case is a scandal. The owner, Eddy Davies, has been converting shares to debt and that is where it has nearly all come from. He bought his 91% stake 10 years ago in collusion with the chairman Phil Gartside, for just £9 Million! Not a lot when you consider we were in the Premier League. He wasn't making enough money from the club so started converting shares to debt earning him 8%, or £12 Million per year. He is sucking the club dry. Considering our turnover, he makes the Glazer's at Man Utd look good. We need to start a campaign to get them both out otherwise the decline will continue." How odd.
April 6, 201412 yr Aren't we just like a northern, more loveable version of Chelsea? With all the debt owed to the owner and us owning all our assets? Well why the bleeding hell aren't Chelsea in that list?
April 6, 201412 yr Is it not that Chelsea and city have pumped the cash in and thats that, they've spent it on the club and if they ever decide to cut thrir losses they just sell the club and take the cash Whereas ed, on paper, has lent it to us and is at any point able to ask it to be paid back? Whether he does or not is a different matter but until its paid back or written off we are, so far as the books say, in debt?
April 7, 201412 yr Whereas ed, on paper, has lent it to us and is at any point able to ask it to be paid back? I don't understand this sort of shit. Who exactly has he "lent" it to?
April 7, 201412 yr Author I don't understand this sort of shit. Who exactly has he "lent" it to? He lent me £98 million of it. PG said it was ok 'cos eventually I'd pay it back in Bovril sales. I've started taking my own in a flask now though which might be why we're having issues?
April 7, 201412 yr I don't understand this sort of shit. Who exactly has he "lent" it to? We've borrowed it from one of his other companies (moonshift or something) as I see it, is it really any different from one of us having a mortgage in negative equity? if you aint selling, it doesn't matter a cunt
April 7, 201412 yr none of us really know what's going on. I'm still wondering if a large chunk of the money ever really existed........or if it's just accountants being very clever
April 7, 201412 yr I don't understand this sort of shit. Who exactly has he "lent" it to? dunno, himself? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25711189 Gartside continued: "It is an amount of money that a benefactor has lent to us. It's not bank debt."
April 7, 201412 yr dunno, himself? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25711189 Gartside continued: "It is an amount of money that a benefactor has lent to us. It's not bank debt." I suppose that until ED either croaks it or sells the club, we'll never really know - and even if he does sell the club, he won't be getting anywhere near £168M for it
April 7, 201412 yr Did I imagine reading that the clock was now ticking on the ten-year notice? I think so I hope so!
