Ani Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I'm getting a little nervous that we will end up 'going with what we've got' No chance, Medo already gone, we might ' go with what we have left' though. It seems that NL actually has a plan, Medo gone, think any of spearing, CYL and bogdan could follow, freeing up money to close some deals. Quote
Guest Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I'm getting a little nervous that we will end up 'going with what we've got' I wouldn't want to be the one to tell Lennon if that was the case. http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/wanderers/11717042._/ Already sounds like he's getting fed up. This is exactly why I'm surprised the club chose Neil Lennon, there could be trouble ahead unless the club back him. Quote
Gonk Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 This is exactly why I'm surprised the club chose Neil Lennon, there could be trouble ahead unless the club back him. Nowhere in that atricle does it mention that the club isn't backing him. Quote
Rembrandt Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Nowhere in that atricle does it mention that the club isn't backing him. The BN articles may not say that, but there seem to be a couple of hints that NL is feeling frustrated with somone and not just the transfer/loan market in general. Disturbing comments. Quote
Gonk Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Where's the 'couple of hints'? He's said he's frustrated that deals he was hoping to have had in place by now haven't materialised. There's loads of reasons why deals fall through or get delayed before they get over the line. I can't find one that says the club aren't backing him. Quote

I can't find one that says the club aren't backing him. indeed folk are talking like we've not been struggling to complete transfers in recent years even under allardyce it was hard work the previous manager would've signed dawson, juke and probably even barrow who is now at swansea given the finances to do so this is where we're at we need to beg, borrow, 'sign shite' or get lucky Quote
Guest Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 (edited) I'm sure when he came here Lennon knew the financial situation. However, I do think those comments are aimed at the club rather than the situation in general. Iles and Nixon both have been hinting at some internal frustrations recently, though Nixon just seems bitter in general! Edited January 12, 2015 by bwfcfan5 Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Maybe some of the frustration could stem from Lennon being in arguably the same marketplace as he was at Celtic, but now doesn't have the benefit of annual Champions League income? Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I think the frustration is knowing how close we are to giving the top 6 a real go, just 2-3 good signings could get us in to the play offs. Quote

Let's not giddy. We were poor Saturday. We are doing better but we are not a top 6 side or even close Quote
gonzo Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 How's the juke getting on at Burnley? Worth a loan punt? Quote
jules_darby Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Let's not giddy. We were poor Saturday. We are doing better but we are not a top 6 side or even closeBut 3 signings could get us to be a top 6 side if they're the right ones I reckon Quote
Big E Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 But 3 signings could get us to be a top 6 side if they're the right ones I reckon I think 3 is too low. 5 or 6 yes. I am struggling to buy into Heskey at the moment. Eidur is doing well but needs a pacey striker making runs imo Quote

Eidur is doing well but needs a pacey striker making runs imo I'm sure Heskey will only start when we have little alternative I think 3 more good signings puts us into the better teams in the league. I don't think we will challenge this season but I think it would give us the "form" of a top 6 side which would bode well for next season and hopefully keep the management team interested 5 or 6 good'uns just aint happening...if it did, we could go on a run and challenge this season, but that seems unrealistic Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 But 3 signings could get us to be a top 6 side if they're the right ones I reckon I think with 3 good ones we would go very very close, as for big e that were not a top 6 team, take out freedmans 11 games and we already are a top 6 team and that's on the back of some bad luck with injuries. Big E stick to Ice hockey fella.???? Quote

Casino Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 one signing can change a teams season 3 can utterly transform it Quote

Guest Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Even if we had the best side in the division as a result of the window, it is a tough ask to make the top 6. Need over 2 points a game between now and the end of the season. Whilst Lennon clearly wants to go for it there is an argument that we save a bit of cash for next season when we start on the same as everyone else points wise. Quote

You and jules are just giddy because you have the bug again The squad would have a good chance at top 6 or better IMO with Lennon in charge for a full season. But you are right that we are a way off having the quality to claw back the points between now and the end of the season. Especially given our injury problems. Quote
