Great to walk on the roads in peace. Until the bikes come. You can here them from a hundred yards away with their carbon back wheels humming as they speed down hill at about 40 mph. I heard that during the commonwealth games, when the riders flew down the hill from Rivington into the village area, that they were approaching 70mph. Just had a check and it seems that that is what tour de France riders are doing on some of their downhills. Madness, can't imagine coming off at that speed. Moderators Carlos Posted September 26, 2021 Moderators Share Posted September 26, 2021 What I don’t get are the mammals who think they are Wiggo, flying down Hardy Mill Road on a Sunday, when the weather is nice. Pricks.

Moderators Carlos Posted September 26, 2021 Moderators Share Posted September 26, 2021 They are totally speeding, I’d fucking love one of them to be done by the mobile cameras on Stitch’mi.

Without a number plate, the cameras aren't much use, unless the bobbies go after em. Just use the stinger...

I think the big boy’s one went around twice. On a wholly different subject, I made my way home from Sunderland this morning. The A1(M) Southbound was being used as part of a cycle race. Amazed me the number of car drivers, those who only seem to look at the bit of road in the 20’ area  they’re currently driving towards (even at 70mph, just don’t bother giving these cyclists any space at all. Mainly because the time they’re alongside them is the first time they’ve seen them, despite the biggest and brightest flashing red lamps I’ve seen. Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted September 26, 2021 Site Supporter Share Posted September 26, 2021 I think there are a number of similar events all over the place today. Sounds like some sort of concerted effort.
