August 21, 201412 yr question posed on the radio the other day. If you HAD to give up watching any sport or listening to music for forever and a day, which would you give the boot too ? close call but music for me. tapping my feet or playing the air guitar doesn't compete to the unpredictability of sport.
August 21, 201412 yr I'd give up sport. Only really into footy and boxing anyway. Couldn't live without music. Might get boring at times though.

August 21, 201412 yr I've got a head jukebox, so they couldn't stop me enjoying music secretly via that. Still music tho', Wanderers memories and fightnights like Tyson in his prime, Benn/Eubank/Watson/McClellan, Lewis in his prime etc are the only sporting things that run music close.

August 21, 201412 yr Not even your favourites, Boyz 2 Men? No music.. ...take away football, you take away Wanderers Ways, football talk with people etc, take away World Cups, other tournaments, Bolton, entertainment. August 21, 201412 yr Speaking of music and the Macron (retrospective too for me) - I didn't enjoy the Oasis/Mondays/Healers there as much because it was 'home' and it felt like it was being defiled... I went under the ESL for ale and noticed someone had deftly curled a turd into a pint cup like a brown Mr Whippy, I was convinced it was some skanky nasal Manc twat doing it out of spite and contempt... Left before the end, was strange hearing 'Don't Look Back in Anger' refrains whilst walking down Chorley New Road...

August 21, 201412 yr On the fence for me. Music is part of everyday life and would be really difficult to give up but you don't have that tribal affiliation you have with a band that you do with your football team. Seen a good few bands fairly often. No mega fan but even the bands with insanely loyal supporters (oasis and courteeners for 2) their fans are kicking off with each other at every gig. May be more to do with the bands in question being followed by dicks but Boltys 'every fan of Bolton is at least 51‰ good' definitely does not ring true in music, in my experience.
