If Valencia win later they will have the fourth Spanish place in the Champions' League. If they don't win then a win for Real Sociedad will claim fourth - otherwise it's Valencia's anyway.

 

There are 13 direct qualifiers for the group stage ahead of ManCity, and if Valencia take the last spot tonight a further 6 facing qualifying matches before the group stage, of which 5 could potentially reach the group stage. So City will be 3 places outside Pot 2 inthe draw. It will take 4 of the 6 to be eliminated for City to advance to the top 16. And unless they reach the quarter-finals of one of the Euro comps they are fairly likely to face the same situation again next time!
