Agreed. When you get in front and wrll on top by one style of play why on God's Earth do they then change everything ?

Plus, & we saw it with Erhahon yesterday who, despite no pre-season, put in a full energetic 90+minutes. The apparent acceptance that players won't last is daft.

It makes you wonder how anyone played 2 games in a week in the 80s and 90s. I can hardly remember McGinlay or Blake getting subbed whether we were 3 up or 3 down, they played 95 minutes Saturday then played 95 minutes on the Tuesday, even if it was the 2nd round of the league cup.

If that's now, they are fatigued and are likely to have a calf or hamstring strain keeping them out the next match.

Seeing that Burnley equaliser again. OMG that defending, has to be seen to be believed. Don't mark anyone unless they are in the 6 yard box and then look surprised when they have a couple of pot shots and score.

Honestly having watched Southampton gift goals to Watford and West Ham defend like school kids (that penalty!!), gives me some hope that we really can take points off some of these top teams. You can spend £100mil in the transfer market compared to our £1 mil but if the opposition don't have to work to create chances it really does close the gap.

Players are now doing 15km at an intensity never seen before. Fatigue loses matches. Some players are obviously more durable than others but there’a actual science by way of biomechanics behind it to ensure everyone is ‘efficient’

There's no doubt that players are fitter, faster and run further now than 30 years ago.

So logically in another 30 years they'll be running 20km instead of 15, they'll be more fatigued and they'll pick up more injuries.

So instead of 5 subs per game we'll need 7 or 8, and instead of being restricted to one 95 minute game per week they'll all have to be subbed.

Not sure where it all ends, the fitter they get the less they can play?

I'm sure I'm misunderstanding this as I don't have a clue, but we've gone from 1 sub in the 70s to 2, to 3, to 5, its got to keep increasing to keep up with the increased intensity.

The subs hurt us , theirs improved them , but at 70 mins a LOT of ours were cream crackered .
