October 30, 201411 yr Got chance to go on it last night and dine under it. Short tour on the plane was good & highly recommended. Gutted won't ever get chance to fly on it. Anyone off here ever fly on it?
October 30, 201411 yr My stepfather used it a few times to New York & from what he said your tour must've indeed been short. Are they really too dangerous to bring back into use?
October 30, 201411 yr I had an Aunty who went a bit batty and booked herself on a flight to Dubai ( I think ) and back in the same day. No one knew until my Uncle got his credit card bill! Once flew over our house one summer. Remember looking up and saying F****** h*** Concorde!

I don't think it's the danger more the environmental reasons but we should tell the world to stuff it and get them flying again. Didn't BA lose money on every flight?
October 30, 201411 yr My stepfather used it a few times to New York & from what he said your tour must've indeed been short. Are they really too dangerous to bring back into use? Yes Mainly because of their age Think I read that if new ones were built they'd be allowed to fly, but they cost the same to build as the time machine in that Jodie Foster film, plus no-one will pay for a flight that only visits Jodie Fosters dead dad. Stuck with lumbering 700 seater air busses for a while yet.
October 30, 201411 yr Yes Stuck with lumbering 700 seater air busses for a while yet. they're not too bad upstairs
October 30, 201411 yr will let you know in December. there's a bird at the top of stairs waiting with a glass of champagne. It's a ruse as its only half full. Fuck her off & go straight on the cocktails.
October 30, 201411 yr Got the schedule for that crash in Paris: Depart Paris CDG 1700 Arrive Hotel Gonesse 1702
October 30, 201411 yr They are not dangerous. The problems were fixed. It wasn't economically viable to keep them running. Shame as it is a great piece of engineering

October 30, 201411 yr I flew t'Egypt on in on a day trip. Just under 3 hours there IIRC, Sphinx and Pyramids, camel ride, bite to eat and market then back home same day. Mental. Was a TV film crew on board, I have it on VHS somewhere.

October 30, 201411 yr Did a tour of it on the USS intrepid, which was cool but they also have a Space Shuttle which topped it. Flying Dreamliner next year and looking forward to it.

October 30, 201411 yr Been on it at few times. Well, grounded at Duxford which is a couple of miles from where I live. Really dull. The whole place, not just Concorde. Don't go if you're not into planes.
October 30, 201411 yr They go up, fly, land. Concorde didn't always, there was the occasional surprise in there
October 31, 201411 yr Anyone who doesn't like planes is odd. They are cool as fuck Calm down, Tattoo.

Don't go if you're not into planes. So, what you're saying is, 'If you're not interested in planes, don't go to the Imperial War Museum at Duxford, which is dedicated to planes.' Am I right?
October 31, 201411 yr I wanted to join the saaf at 16 and become an aircraft mechanic, said I was too young had to be 18. Was gutted
October 31, 201411 yr Planes are ace. Anything with an afterburner on it will do for me. I'm a sucker for all these videos that fighter pilots are doing using go-pro cameras in the cockpits at the moment, could watch them all day.
October 31, 201411 yr So, what you're saying is, 'If you're not interested in planes, don't go to the Imperial War Museum at Duxford, which is dedicated to planes.' Am I right? Yeah. Spot on, well done you, go to the top of the class. But here's the thing, I thought even I could handle looking at a few hangers full of them, and the American one is fairly impressive. But after the fifth or sixth, it was boring as. Planes not flying is fairly dull. I was most sympathetic with my 4 year old daughter as we got to the third on and she exclaimed, 'Not more, please.' We went and had an ice cream instead. I will concede that last summer, I was walking from a village called Barley and above us flew a squadron of Spitfires from the air show that year. Clear blue, endless skies, quiet typical English village - Norman Church, one pub, thatched cottages etc etc, the final ridge of the Chiltern hills and path of the Icknield way framing the flat expanse of Cambridgeshire corn fields - and you could just imagine what it was like in July 1940. The rural landscape overtaken by planes, airfields, boys going off to war and the changes that this would mean. Now that, that was impressive. Context you see, that's the interesting thing for me. Not a hanger full of engines and bombs. So, Zulu, I guess you may ask why I went. As with everything, freebies. Lovely, lovely freebies.
