L/H White Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 You obviously missed the laughter. Understandable. Can't be much happiness being an Evertonian what with living in the shadow of the big club on the other side of Stanley Park and all that. And what a big club that is on the other side of Stanley Park. Quote

MalcolmW Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Must be something about teams in blue always being in the shadow or their bigger/more successful neighbours:  United / City Liverpool / Everton Celtic / Rangers  Always is not the right word. Premier League age or even post-WWII, yes, but pre-war: Everton won 5 titles and were in the top four 18 times, plus 2 FA Cup wins and 3 other finals. Liverpool won 4 titles and were in the top four 14 times, plus no FA Cup wins and just 1 final. But Liverpool won the second division three times against Everton's once. Between World Wars ManCity won both league and cup, and spend 3 seasons in the second division (winning it once). ManUs only honour in the 20 seasons between the wars was a second division title. For 9 of those seasons they were in the second division, once escaping relegation to 3N on the final match. ManU only finished in the top half of the first division once (in 9th place), as against 13 times for City. Quote
