I left my parental home, or rather a temporary kicking out to shit me up which turned into a real parting of ways because I'm a stubborn c*nt, happened to me in the days between Christmas and New Year one year...Anyhow, I had a Christmas tree, a real one, in my bedroom at the time, when I'd reconciled with my mam and dad and returned for some stuff, in mid-May, the Christmas tree was still up in the room, it remained there for another two or three months an' all (this wasn't keeping my room as a shrine to me type of thing though, though they should have done that).

 

Christmas trees should go up on Christmas Eve, although up to a week before is acceptable if you've children, it should come down on Twelfth night which is the evening before Epiphany...

 

Any deviation from the above and we may as well start calling it 'The Holidays'...

I see nowt wrong with calling it The Holidays anyway. By doing that all faiths can embrace it, which has to be a good thing.

Indeed, happy holidays, mate.

They might as well call it the holidays, Christmas Eve, when the last till had rung, and the last penny had been wrest from out pockets, bang! the greedy twats start with the f*cking summer holiday ads on telly...

 

Don't worry, this is my one and only post on this topic, it won't descend into a five post rant.

 

It does make sense though, to think of breaks around this time, some belting deals for February flights out there...

Tree down tomorrow, one year everything came down at 12:01.

I had every intention of taking the fucker down today but it'll keep til tomorrow,i just can't be arsed.
