Kearsley

Alright fellas,

Just registered on the site, although I've been reading it for ages. Live in Kearsley (border country with the DMB's) I have a season ticket in the West stand lower with my son, pretty much on the half way line, and we get to some away games as well, work permitting.

Anyway, I've really enjoyed reading the posts and banter on here, and if you'll let me join in, I'd appreciate it.

Cheers.

Nothing wrong with KCC. It used to be a great place to drink on a Sunday when the pubs closed at 2pm

Alreet and welcome.

Thanks for the welcome lads, apart from being labelled a queer, I appreciate it. I'm not your average WSL type, I actually try to make a bit of noise at the game.

my dad had one of his bookies shops nearby ...I enjoyed a beer in The Antelope on many occasions

What's that one near the end of Springfield Road on Manny/Bolton road? Moss Rose?

Think the old man used to sup there.

Think the old man used to sup there.

Antelope was at the bottom of Springfield Rd and Moss Rose was across the road from it. The Antelope closed about 12 months ago and is being rebuilt into I think offices.

The Moss Rose closed at the beginning of January but a new tenant takes over soon. The White Horse still seems to be open.

Wilsons-as good a pie as anywhere. Worth a trip to Kearsley any time

Unfortunately, the cricket club is the only place to sup at moment. A 'walk down the road' is now consisting of farnworth and hence bolton. It's killing me.

White Horse?

As long as my Dad didn't exclude you from George Toms, welcome on board.

South end or north? We do try to generate a bit of atmosphere but the stewards frown upon it.

We're pretty much central, moved there this season. I feel twenty years too young to be there so I may shuffle back towards the away lot.

Stewards frowning is them wondering how to put a full sentence together before they speak.
