January 8, 201511 yr I hear about school nights etc, I don't binge drink as in 10 pints a night but I reckon there's barely a day that I go without 2/3 pints a night then there's the weekends so 25 pints or 50 units is normal. Is it normal for a 45 yr old bloke?
January 8, 201511 yr You're not doing your liver any favours. Might be worth having a night or two off each week to give it a chance to recover as at the moment it'll be working overtime. We do a test called an Audit C at work and you'd fall into a high risk zone based on that level. Don't shoot the messenger though - I'm not judging. You can download the test here if you want? http://www.alcohollearningcentre.org.uk/Topics/Browse/BriefAdvice/?parent=4444&child=4898 I've got you as scoring 9 on the first 3 questions - you'd have to answer the other ones yourself. This is what we'd use in a healthcare setting anyway!
January 8, 201511 yr Good, I'm going to up my game then. What's your average sweet cheeks? I'm trying to stay off it but it's another home game this Saturday. During the week I'm good as gold.
January 8, 201511 yr Author Hahaha, I'll read it properly when I've finished me pint Kent. You've opened up a can of worms with that questionnaire on this forum!
January 8, 201511 yr I'm trying to stay off it but it's another home game this Saturday. During the week I'm good as gold. Similar to me. Im not normally to bad, probably drinking 3/4 nights a week and not a huge amount. December was another story, for some reason i went mental and was on it every night. Im stopping drinking during the week now for the forseeable, friday and saturdays are another story Makes me look forward to fridays even more!
January 8, 201511 yr Only drink Friday night and Saturday. Whisky at home. Cider or Guinness at the match. But as we all know. A day on the lash at the football can be the equivalent of 2 weeks boozing for any other Frederick.
January 8, 201511 yr Drink red wine at home Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Not a great deal though, a bottle tops (I know that will seem like a lot to some people). Don't drink Monday to Thursday. If I go out, it depends on what I'm doing, quite partial to a brandy occasionally or sometimes cider.
January 8, 201511 yr Knocked supping through the week on the head ages ago, due tot he fact im up early and driving so never bother with having a pint or a beer etc at home. Evaluated my drinking over the festive period and set myself a target of having a month off, boozing, then see how i feel, wether to have another month off. Im hoping this month off will help me change my attitude towards drinking. Edited January 8, 201511 yr by superjohnmcginlay
January 8, 201511 yr 2 pints on a Monday, nothing tues - thurs then it can be anything from very little to a skinful on fri - sun depending on what I have planned for the weekend. No such thing as typical consumption for me. I would however hazard a guess that over the course of a year, it will be a bit more than it should be but not loads more

January 8, 201511 yr My grandad and his buddies used to go to the boozer every night - and I mean every night - and religiously have 4 pints. No more. He lived to a grand old age. Was probably drinking mild though not premium lager, makes quite a big difference I bet. I drink a couple of bottles a wine per week, with maybe a handful of lagers on top, it's completely counter productive as I go to the gym a lot.
January 8, 201511 yr This is the problem. If I'm on it ...I'm on it. I can't just have 2-3 pints then call it a night. Well I probably can,but it does my head in. Soon as I have a pint that's it. No sleep till Brooklyn. If Bolton are at home I drive and have a beer when I get back. Out for dinner somewhere Sunday with a few ales. That's pretty much it. A stark contrast to 3-4 years ago. Stopping drinking in the week changed everything.
January 8, 201511 yr Monday - No beer Tuesday - No beer Wednesday - 3/4 pints if I'm watching the football or sometimes when i'm out for a meal I'll have 2 pints and half a bottle of wine. Thursday - No beer Friday - lunch time in the pub, beers after work (8 pints over both), Half a bottle of wine with meal Saturday - If I'm watching Bolton 10+ pints and a load of other shite. If I'm playing football I'll have 3 or 4 after and fall asleep by 10. Sunday - No beer Christmas time was just rediculous. Counted 25+ pints of flat cap in one week alone

January 8, 201511 yr Usually summat like - Monday - Nowt Tuesday - Ditto Wednesday - 1/2 a bottle of red Thursday - 3/4 a bottle of red Friday - 8 pints of lager Saturday - 4 pints lager and 1/2 a bottle of red Sunday - 5 pints real ale and 1/2 a bottle of red And to think, I used to drink quite a lot when I was younger
January 8, 201511 yr I rarely drink Monday~Thursday If I drink Friday, then I generally won't drink on the Saturday Sunday is my drinking day of choice, but normally only do one a month. I'm currently doing very well, as I've not had a drink since NYE

January 8, 201511 yr I am an absolute shadow of the drinker I used to be, not time to hang up the engraved tankard yet but I am certainly not supping at the top table anymore. Makes a performance like Huddersfield away all that more special, rolled back the years with that effort.
January 8, 201511 yr And when you're working away? thats different, anyway, I only work away once or twice a week

I did wonder the other week if we've only got a certain amount of units before we decide to give it up, a bit like your heartbeats? I'm hoping this is only a temporary lapse rather than a permanent situation as teetotallers don't seem to gave half as much fun & I quite like being pissed. Edited January 8, 201511 yr by no balls
