Zico Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Having looked at fixtures see an interesting run coming up with millwall, (Ipswich), wigan and Blackpool We could be well safe by then but something needs fixing it would seem Quote
BOWTUN BAKED Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 while i agree with the sentiment and want to see 4 at the back,, im not sure its that simple teams with pace on the wings rip our full backs to bits we we either protect them with cover or we play two decent ones on the other hand, we looked strong enough for long enough with vela and ream doing the job tricky one for lennon For the first time under Lennon, I was worried about his team selection to formation, barring injuries. My worries were confirmed when we were 2-0 down & I was still trying to work out what we were playing.(not beer related ) Long term, I think he's favouring 3-5-2, he's been trying it recently & it's not working. Previously I thought he was playing it due to injuries etc , but I think he's looking at it long term now, only guessing from today's set up, but again (like Rotherham) we were bulldozed too quickly & too early to be then chasing the game. The rest of the season will be interesting to see. Quote
jules_darby Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Everything bar getting the penalty went wrong today Everything. Even the traffic was wank Lenny is worrying me with some of his selections....also Danns and Vela middle 2 of a 4 man midfield doesn't work for me...I like both players but it just doesn't work. Bizarre thins all over the shop today; no point reading much into it, but ironically it was all very, very "freedman-esque" Quote

BOWTUN BAKED Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Said before I loke danns but he's not good enough He is good enough, played to his strengths, recently I don't think he's being played to his strengths & now he's the next scape goat. Hardly his fault. Quote

Hardly his fault.Yep, sitting deep isn't working for him or the team. He got the ball once today, desperately looking sideways for a pass and it opened up in front of him, he drove forward with it and even through he gave it away they backed off, looked worried and he was back to what he's best at briefly More Lenny's fault than his IMO Quote

ex_midlandwhite Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Shipping four every game is getting pretty tiresome so I hope Lennon reconsiders his remarks from midweek. Shipping four to a Freedman team is even worse. Hope we start with round pegs in round holes when possible as that line up today was horrible. Can't blame the injuries and red card as we should have been 4 down at half time. No panic on relegation, February always looked tough. I did hope we would fair better against the best teams than we did under Freedman though so that is disappointing. We do look a distinctly lower mid table side. Quote
Guest Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 We were absolutely bollocks today. But Lennon has to look at himself. The worst team selection and setup I can remember for a long time. What the feck was that Twatdick doing being selected at left back? Ream got mullered at right back and we had no midfield. Vela was absolutely terrible. This lad has a lot to do to be a central midfield player for us. Right now I'd say he's right back or not in the side. The system was wank, the performance beyond wank Forest were better than us in every department. They were setup properly, we were setup terribly. Too much complacency, we could easily get dragged back into a relegation battle. Quote
HR Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 I think we're beginning to see the full extent of the job that's on for our Neil. New manager bounce is over and now he's going to have to start using his ginger noggin. I'm behind him 100% while he sorts it out. Well said. Quote
L/H White Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Men v boys today, they looked huge against us, our lads were bullied off the ball far to easily. we really do need some muscle and height in the side imo. Quote
jules_darby Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Aye, we need a centre midfield "enforcer" for sure Quote
HR Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 One thing for sure this is no even scrappy league where all teams are equal. Quote

The scene is set for the return of Liam Trotter!!! It's that bad!!! Matt Mills has seriously let the team and fans down today. Very pissed off with him. Everything else is already covered on here elsewhere. Poor tactics, growing injury list, poor them selection, players out of position. I like Josh Vela. But today he was shocking beyond belief. Quote
