SJM on radio Manchester just said that the club have been talking to potential investors for last two weeks. Let's hope so!

The Wimbledon/MK Dons thing was an absolute disgrace and very little was said. Compare that with the FA stopping the change of name at Hull, what a nonsense.

The whole Wimbledon/MK Dons thing is weird, it's actually turned out to be the best thing that could have happened to Wimbledon (as they were at the time) - I doubt it will be the last time that a team ups sticks and moves location.

re mk

fwiw, i reckon wimbledon wouldve long since folded

Moving a club to another part of the country is just wrong however well it works out for one party in the end. It's the kind of nonsense our American cousins get up to.

Clubs have changed colours and names on a regular basis over the years, it's only recently that knickers have got in a twist.

'Regular basis'? We've been Bolton Wanderers since 1877 and played in white shirts since 1892.

Is it though?

Take a club like Accrington Stanley for instance. The people who live in/around Accrington don't give a fuck about the club, this is shown by them averaging about 1500 people for home games, why not move them to somewhere where they might prosper and be more than a shitty little club that just goes through the motions just to eek out an existence.

Like it or not, MK Dons show that a club can thrive and improve if relocated. As Cassie says above, Wimbledon would have probably folded now had they not moved, and now they're doing really well with one of the best stadiums in the country

We moved just over 4 miles away from a ghetto and still there's fans won't come because of it.

Which other clubs have completely changed their colours like Cardiff, or their name as Hull are again planning to do, in the last 50 years?

I suppose Leeds United is the most famous who changed from yellow and blue to the white they have now, that was in the 60's though....I think

I'd be happy with green and White hoops if it meant getting two or three top quality bodies in

Leyton orient switching between that and just orient is the only name one I can think of

Crystal Palce have also changed their colours and badge loads of times in their history.

orient went blue to red

You used 1877 in your previous post now shift the goal posts to suit your argument. Poor form.

Halifax and Torquay come to mind, Watford maybe out of your time frame, Crystal Palace kit designers always seem to be busy with the felt tips during the close season.

Swansea, Orient, Chester have all changed names in my lifetime.

Leyton orient switching between that and just orient is the only name one I can think of

Hartlepool used to be called Hartlepools I think

luton are always fooking about with white and orange

this seasons west brom kit is the least west brom ive known

Didn't Millwall play in white at home for a bit?

None of the clubs you referred to have changed their names by adding the club nickname to the location. Swansea Town became Swansea City when the town became a city. Orient started as Clapton Orient and then Leyton Orient because it is in both Clapton and Leytonstone. Chester City were wound up in 2010.

I agree, 100%. That wasn't the question you asked though.

what difference would it actually make other than possibly reducing the debt

we're already spending all we are allowed to, aren't we?

Rules change next year I think and there is more room for investment. Eddie doesn't want to spend more of his money on it which is why he is trying to sell. It does feel like we need some investment to give the club a good shot in the arm.

Is it though?

The pyramid system in English football provides a way for teams like MK Dons to do it in a proper, organic manner.

Given that the examples i used were Cardiff and Hull, i assumed you were capable of making that connection yourself.

It's no skin off my nose.

Just yer cock :)
