SJM on radio Manchester just said that the club have been talking to potential investors for last two weeks. Let's hope so!

  • If the Celtic connection is true, it would be fantastic for us to have a partnership with a massive club like Celtic, they've a huge following globally, and any relationship we have with them can only

  • Which ever way you cook it he has put in significantly more than he's taken out. Some of it smoke and mirrors, I suspect most of it managing cash flow albeit a lot less than the clubs current debt.

just goes to show cash injections aren't always what they are cracked up to be

no wonder they are the richest club in the world

wonder how many wish they were back in league one where tickets were cheap and away days ace?

Man City fans upset by season ticket changes

http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/man-city-fans-upset-season-9060520#ICID=sharebar_twitter

Manchester City fans have reacted angrily to a season ticket pricing overhaul with some supporters facing price rises of almost £900.

Some season ticket holders in the Colin Bell Stand have been asked to double their outlay to remain in their current seats - or switch to other parts of the ground.

The rises form part of a reconfiguration in the Colin Bell and East Stand second tiers. New Premium Seats priced at £1750 per season will replace seats which currently cost £885 for 2014/15.

The fee is for Premier League action only, meaning these seats will cost around £1 per minute of football watched.

Fuck 'em.

Fuck 'em.

correct answer.

My dads and lads just come through £398 and £64 just over £20 per game fantastic value IMHO.

Huzzah!

It's very harsh to criticize City's owners given what they've achieved in such a short space of time.

They need to generate more income and that means either more corporate areas or putting the price of everyone's season ticket up. They're not forcing the people who sit in that area to pay it, they're giving them the option of moving to another part of the ground. It's not ideal but it's not as mercenary as it's being cracked up to be.

Incidentally Allam said that if he'd bought City, he would have changed the name of the club to 'Manchester Hunter'.

it's not a critiscm of the owners as such

it's a question to fans of how much success do you want and at what cost

most, if not all, when asked if they wanted people to come in to help them compete for the title and in the CL, they would say yes

if you asked them do they want to pay double for the privilege so may also have said yes

turns out a few are upset

which you have good reason to be when you see how much city rake in from PL money (with the biggest deal ever coming into play), and knowing they are owned by very rich people - you can excuse plenty fans for thinking cash injection means they'll subsidies their pursuit of success rather than doubling prices

at least city have title challenges and CL footy to justify this with

other clubs with owners trying to make money don't

fat sam wanted to increase ticket prices to fund his CL push when he was here, gartside and davies told him to forget it and let them run the club

if we get taken over and our new owners decided st's are going up so they can generate more revenue, it's not going to go down well

if that doesn't work, let's hope they don't come up with some other scheme that might upset us either

we might be 160m in debt or whatever the scenario is, but as said, cash injections and take overs don't necessarily mean we'll go out and buy players, it may also mean we have to pay more

Not City's owners fault that financial fair play stops them spending what they want. So they have to increase income to increase spending. Football fans like spending someone elses money not their own. It is absolutely fine to be against outside investment or buy out for all sorts of reasons. But the modern game means that not having that investment will hamper us massively and probably consign us to lower league scraps for a considerable amount of time.

aye, as said, it's a question of how much we want the success - if these new owners come in and say, we'll aim for promotion next season, we'll give Neil Lennon all the backing we can to bring in who he wants within FFP, we're going for it

ps - £150 increase on season tickets and £10 on match day prices, you reckon we'd sell more or less? and at the increased price, do you think we'd get better gates if we're pushing for promotion / play offs?

city do their best to get round the FFP by offering incentives in their contracts - the likes of aguero, silva and toure get something like 500k bonus each if they make it to the CL - if they finish 4th, then don't make it through the play offs, they don't get their bonus - they may even then do one, but the fans will still be paying the increased prices

suppose somone has to pay for Wilfried Bony

it's all a bit shit really

Are all the supporters being asked to pay double though, or is it just those fans in the seats which are going to be converted into corporate areas? If so, they also have the choice of moving to a cheaper seat.

It'll be a long time before City's owners see any return on their investment given the amount they've shelled out to rebuild the entire area, not just the ground. They're one of the better examples of foreign owners.

I don't know whether we'd sell more or less, would probably be results dependent. But any owner loses if ticket income goes down so all will be looking to strike the right balance, at least for Championship sides.

I'd gladly pay £150 more a season if that meant we had a really good team to go and watch....

no, and you can still get a season ticket for £299

it does say in the article:

Seats in the first tier of the same stand have also seen significant increases of 30% – despite the absence of Premium Seats there.

so if you had a really good seat that you paid a lot for, because you wanted that seat due to the view, you now have to pay up more or move

yeah, they have the choice of a cheaper seat, but i doubt you'd see it so reasonably if you were told you had to increase your payment or move to nobhead corner or to the front row of the NSL (assuming you don't sit there already) - these cheaper options will be cheaper for a reason - they won't be as good

Why are city building a bigger stadium they struggle to sell out the stadium now for some games.

I think it's something to do with wanting to host Champs league final and other marquee events.

The Etihad isn't big enough at the mo.

Why would a Newcastle paper feature this?

Irish consortium led by Gerry Carlile, according to Nixon in today's Sun. Carlile is a nightclub/restaurant owner and football agent. He was brought up in the Republican Falls Road area of Belfast, big Celtic fan who nonetheless ended up doing a fair bit of business with Rangers when he became an agent. Clearly knows Lennon very well. Hard to see how he alone has deep enough pockets to take on a football club - so you'd hope he has big money backers.

Good pals with Gerry Adams I understand

Talk of shin fein getting a box at the Reebok once this war chest comes through

Consortium heads are rarely the money people. For many, many reasons.

This ain't gonna go down well with our Rangers supporting fans.

He must be fronting a bid as Gerry hasnt got that sort of money

I for one welcome our new Irish overlords.
