July 23, 201511 yr Is it not just because we don't know how much we are going to get for outgoing players?? Ie you can't budget for incoming transfer fees/losses off the wage bill when you don't know which players are leaving and how much for?

So we are waiting for example on how much of Hall's wages MK Dons will take on....

People can make excuses as above but there is no excuse to be made and seemingly no accountability for this horrendous mess the club finds itself in.

July 23, 201511 yr Whatever happened to the N'Gog money? Pretty sure we got a good bonus when Swansea stayed up. 500K for Chungy too and money for Sordell to Burnley and 2 televised FA Cup games against Liverpool. All to pay the bills I'd imagine, but zero being invested in squad strenghthing.

We have nothing free to spend because the budget is maxed. As Iles and Nixon have been saying. Lennon can't know what he has till players move out. How is that a horrendous mess? Nottingham Forest are in exactly the same position. Freedman has been moaning about that this morning. Yes it would be far better if we had money to spend but we know we don't and know Eddie isn't funding anymore. Can you really blame him and does that really mean the club is being badly run?

July 23, 201511 yr Arguably if we are working to run within our means we are being well run. Whether within our means is championship level who knows. The debt to Eddie just paid for a ten year party, which is well over now. Sure clubs with revenue similar to ours would have loved the time we have had. In fact they probably see us as having done a QPR, paying fees and wages we couldn't find without one man.

Again, the club have been fairly honest. At no point have they said we're spending big. Lennon has said for a long time that things are very tight barring investment. The fact we're looking for new owners is public knowledge. Things aren't hidden. There is absolutely no point in Gartside doing an interview to say what we all know, that we have to run within our means until investment is received.

I've no issue with where the money is going I've more an issue as to the lack of transparency and the lack of information the club give to the fans we are treated appallingly and have been for years, yes ED owns the club but the fans are also stakeholders (admittedly small stake holders) who should be treated as such.

How hard is it to understand that Lennon doesn't know the budget because players have to be sold or sent out on loan first. Iles has explained this already. Even he can get that idea. He has nothing to spend until someone is sold.....and he isn't a fortune teller so doesn't know when that will happen or for how much.
July 23, 201511 yr (a) The budget is zero. We have no money until serious investment comes in or we get a new owner. ( No new players will come in unless players first go out (even loans). This will continue until (a) happens. © The total wage bill will continue to be reduced over time until (a) happens. (d) All money received for Chungy, Ngog, car park, parachute payments have gone towards the current losses/bank loans/existing wage bill/running the club, etc. (e) Any serious offer for a player will be considered. July 23, 201511 yr In all fairness its not as bad as it was 40 -50 yrs ago ,then we were real fodder , & I do appreciate that not everything can be in the public domain & in the current situation which has got to be quite tricky & in a state of flux to keep on the right side of ffp , however a statement or two from our beloved chairman might on occasion be helpful to supporters after all he does write to us all early doors to ask us to commit blindly to the forthcoming season.
