One of the ten worst run clubs in the country according to the Telegraph. One for the Gartside chummers on here

We’ve never gone into admin, I don’t know how many have but my guess it would be more then 10 ( over to you Malc), so we can’t be one of the 10 worst

Are the likes of Chelsea and Man City actually well run? Time will tell on that when the money folk get bored. If we (as the Telegraph article is at pains to suggest) can't live within our means, be interesting to see how some of these big boys cope if / when the momey dries up.

Big backers can easily mask how a club is run far too easily. Just look at Portsmouth for that.

Not saying we are well run, but the idea that we in a minority existing as we do is laughable.

No matter how hard I try, though I've really not given it my all if truth be told, I simply cannot give more than a slight fuck about the debt.

I'm more than happy to let others sit and develop aneurysms as the self-titled custodians of the club's finances. The vast majority of whom wouldn't understand the club accounts pdf if it was bellowed out to them by Brian Blessed using single-syllable words and an abacus.

The sooner people understand that we aren't Chelsea the better.

We'll be fine.

Citeh, chelsea and manyoo all have bigger 'debts' to their owners.

the problem at bolton isn't the debt itself more the club costs more to run than it brings in, and ED isn't prepared to keep subsidising it.

plus the grauniad report was done of fan opinion not by any scientific means

That's the thing. These clubs are not well run and yes, they are having good times as the momey brings in success. But at some point the wheels will come off at a big club and make our problems look more like a 'slight worry' in comparison.

Our issues right now revolve around uncertainty. While Eddie was happy to put the money in, no one gave a shit. The fact that he no longer wants to do that leaves us in limbo. I'd personally love to know just how far Eddie is willing to go to sell the club. He needs to do some writing off of debt to sweeten any deal to a new owner. But the impression you get is that he's less than keen to do that.

If that is the position, we'll be in this limbo for months or even years. No one is going to take that debt and if they did, they'll just throw it onto the club and leave us in an even worse position.

Is this the great big Thread about the debt or the thread about the great big debt or possibly the great thread about the big debt?

I can't make up any debt-related bollocks add my informed opinion until I know where this is headed.

It's a dedicated channel through which everyone can broadcast their bullshit opinions - naturally claimed as facts - about why Gartside is saving up for a solid gold helicopter by emptying the tills at the club shop every night.

If Allardyce was backed and we held on to that Champions League place I wonder what would have happened.

Yes Allardyce brought in Anelka etc for millions but if we went for it? was the risk too much, looking at what happened to the likes of Leeds?

Instead of 8 or so years of demise, we could have had some real money coming in and some proper talent. All hindsight, but a shame considering what's happened to us.

I can't fucking believe that folk are actually posting more shit about the same shit

It's OK MR58, at some point this will turn into a transfer thread, and the transfer thread will have debt chat in it, and in both we'll end up mentioning twix a half dozen times.
