Town Centre Latest

Just had a meeting on Churchgate. Sad to see the Bolton News offices empty. And in a week or two the Travel Counsellors building opposite will be empty. Another 200+ people spending approx £20 per week on parking and lunches in the town... plus whatever other services they spend their hard-earned on - all being lost. Very sad state of affairs.

When will it get better? Should these empty offices be turned into apartments?

The Food Hall has opened at Bolton Market. Had a mooch around. Didn’t buy anything but it both looks and smells good. Various stalls with a variety of foods and a small bar.  I’ve said previously, t

Can’t say I’m reading it all hoping for an argument on the level of Homer’s Iliad. It passes the time like a magazine in a dentist’s waiting room. Summat to look at before the upcoming pain of work

What the fuck have The Simpsons got to do with the price of cheese?

Woah there cowboy. Are you trying to say that classical Greek poems are not works of literature that shaped the thinking of scholars?

Fully expected even Johnny to see through Sweep's wind up there.

Seems to have fallen for it hook, line and sinker 😂

You mean to say the bit were sweep admits to being a racist was a wind up? And what next? Please don’t tell me you were winding me up when you too, a school teacher, readily admitted to an open public forum to being a racist? You guys…

Fair enough. If you haven’t read his and Sweep’s dialogue then you’ve missed it. It passes a bit of time reading through it when I need a break from work. Don’t think there is an actual point as such

I think my main point was I’m saddened to see real northern working mans towns like Bolton losing their identity bit by bit each year due to mass immigration. Areas that were once full of people like you and me are long gone.  The same way as if I was to visit Italy, and let’s say I want to visit a piece of real Italy and I head for one of the towns, when I got there I find that the areas surrounding the town were now full of African migrants. Would anyone on here not feel saddened to see that?

If you'd made this post at the start I dont think many would argue.

Well they would, its here, but you know what I mean.

Theres a lot of areas go the same way but due to other minorities and demographics of people.

 It’s a good point.

Take the United States for example. I’ve been a few times and I’ve still not seen a single Native American settlement. It’s all burger joints, fatty bum bums and big trucks.

Same in places like Peru, Mexico and Brazil. You just don’t see Aztecs, Mayans, Incas etc, it’s just all Iberians who’ve barely been there for 5 minutes eating all the Guinea Pigs and chopping the trees down.

Sad to see really.

that was my main point although reading back it may have come across as a racist rant. Unfortunately I’m not as articulate as the posters on here but I’m sure they understood my point but chose not to.

You said that we’ve “fucked up” letting Muslims in. Pretty clear what you meant. Stop playing the victim who’s having his words twisted 😂

We have fucked up. They’re outbreeding the white population in Bolton and moving out of their slums in to what was once white areas and the local whites are then moving further away to avoid them. We can co exist with them on a working level but outside of work you very rarely see whites and Muslims socialising. And that’s because we don’t share many of the same values. Hands up on here who can say one of their closest friends is Muslim? I doubt not many if any.

Ok then. Let’s say you are travelling through Ireland. Real authentic Ireland. You say let’s stop off and visit a local pub and drink a real Irish Guinness. But when you get there the pub is now a local mosque and the inhabitants are mainly Asian Muslims. And the main streets are now littered with pizza shops and phone shops.  What are your first thoughts?

I’m now waiting for cheese and frank_spencer to tell me that their neighbours are African migrants and good people. (Insert Rolls eyes emoji)

How do you think native Americans feel?

Standing by and seeing all these fatties turn their land into something so utterly un-American?

You're saying it’s ok for palefaces to conquer the globe and do this, but not the other way round?

Because, goodness me, you need to start learning to fight. The world is changing and the brown folk we dominated for 200 years are turning the tables.

Fuck me, this is tedious.

So tell me if you feel this angry about how America has treated the former natives why do you go there? Is it to protest? Or do you go to visit all that America had to offer?

You made no effort to see one? That's terrible.

He’s probably chosen not to as there are Native American settlements. He instead chose to visit the westernised America he so loathes.

I am saying they are - I wasn't asking for that, I was asking for a bit of humor - not Homer.

Is this Miami and his he's half Comanche thing 😂. I mean, I knew a lot of roofers were cowboys, but Indians?
