So he's imune from criticism?

So he can stay silent and drive the club into a oblivion without so much as a statement?

You don't think he's made any money out of BWFC?

You can criticise all you want, I personally won't because I wonder where we would be without him constantly covering our losses with loans from himself to the business BWFC. It runs at a loss, most people cut their losses and fuck off in that scenario, now that would be driving the club to oblivion. Will he ever get that money back out of BWFC? I imagine not. Has he made money out of BWFC? Maybe there is interest on these loans but I doubt the money he has took from the club outweighs what he has put in.

Do I think he should make a statement? About what? The obvious that is no secret.

No he's not immune from criticism - as Walkden points out, if you're as rich as him, you're allowed to criticise him. If not - well, that's your fault for not having been born to wealthy parents. Simple.

Not sure if you are being sarcastic or not but Eddie is a self made millionaire born and raised in Little Lever. He has earnt the right to do whatever he wants with his money.

I understand we are all frustrated with our current predicament on and off the pitch but throwing shit the way of a man who has bankrolled this club for years and kept us afloat is a bit poor.

The blame has to lie on the pitch with the players, manager and the managers staff.

Said it before, why should clubs like us and QPR have a divine right to be bankrolled by someone. I am sure Barnsley, Bradford and other clubs of the like would have loved the backing Eddie Davies historically gave us and the results and adventures it bought.

Unless someone else decides to throw money at us its our turn to live within our means, which means cutting costs even more

Hallelujah!

Anyway, I like Lennon, but he's either clueless, pushing for the sack or back into depression.

I just think the silence is because they are embarrassed and don't have anything positive to offer.

Yeah, that's definitely a thing. That's how a successful businessman and his highly paid representative would run a club. In fact, that's definitely what the rest of the board would tolerate. Just sitting there being embarrassed for the next few years.

Thanks for the insight.

Well it's more likely than them being silent because  a deal is near! Not much more granted but there is hope and there is delusion. No deal is close! Nothing at all to suggest it only blind hope and that is only going to end in disappointment.

Not sure how relevant Eddie's successful other businesses are anymore. He's either too ill to make decisions or lost all interest in the club and as for Gartside, just because he is highly paid does not mean he is doing a good job. Unless that job is to push us down to Division Four and then bale.

stoke, west brom, are run properly , we have been badly run .blame who you want, but it has been badly managed in the board room, managerial appointments, signings, wages dished out.

Correct

If the Managers and players have been bad for so long, then partial responsibility has to lie with the board.

Owners and Chairs are custodians of the club and have both a legal and ethical obligation to do what's right for it

Stoke are not well managed!!! They have spent an absolutely fortune to be where they are. Recooped barely anything.

Wish we had an owner who has put as much money in as theirs. Appointing Mark Hughes was a smart move, appointing Megson wasn't. And that is without hindsight. They have survived in the Premier League and are raking in the money now, we are a busted flush. Compared to them we are badly run. Compared to most we are badly run, can't believe there are those who still won't question just what the fuck has gone wrong. Can't all be fans fault

Aye but when we were in the top 8 season after season whilst Stoke and WBA were doing fuck all I bet their fans (and many more in their shoes) commented about Bolton being well run

I bet they said the same about Blackburn & Charlton at the same time. The wheels will come off their at some point too however long it takes.

If your a relatively small club like ours then It can't last forever, especially if you lose money every year defying gravity with the big boys, Unless of course you find a benefactor willing to lose their own Hard earned

Fuck knows how much ED is really expecting to get back, my bet would be he wants the value of the assets and fuck all for the 'business' (club) as its not worth £0.01 due to its annual losses. PG & ED should sell the assests (stadium, training ground & lostock) to the highest bidders.

We can rent the ground back, find somewhere else to train, fuck the youth system off and concentrate on signing players. Hopefully then when we still don't have a pot to piss in but don't have the enigma of 'the debt' folk will realise we are no better off than we are now.

Therein lies the issue, it's what the custodians of the club, the board and chairman) do with the money. Stoke's backer has only really upped the ante in the last couple of seasons, what they have done is made better decisions than us with his money.

We're now in the sort of position Wolves were when Sir Jack Hayward made his famous 'the golden tit has dried up' comment and decided to bale out to the Caribbean. They had to suck it up for a while and are still only just getting back on an even keel. We need to accept where we are, dust ourselves down, sort out our finances, structures, academy, etc and go again, a la Southampton.

It can be done.

It's a bit like blaming the check out staff because Morrisons Local went tits up.

Perhaps you should give hindsight a chance then

Mark Huges would have been a disaster!!

Before he spent a fortune at Stoke achieving mid table obscurity he.....

Got found out at City (having had all the money in the world to spend)

Lasted11 months at Fulham drawing nearly all his matches in charge (a team that had just got to the UEFA cup final when he took over)

Finally he got QPR relegated after spending another fortune in the process

He'd have done jack shit here on our shoe string budget

Appointing Mark Hughes was a smart move, appointing Megson wasn't. And that is without hindsight.

That is almost exclusively hindsight...

Just saying.

Or maybe it was business decision based on a series of interviews and made by a hierarchy that knows exactly what it's doing?

Er no it is not actually. i did not want Megson at the time and when we were looking for a new manager I thought Mark Hughes would have been a decent choice and Souness (having already been shouted down on that one as well). The key is 'at the time' so not hindsight at all Snoop dogg.

No use raking over old coals but the whole process of appointing Megson was a dodgy farce and just one more question mark over our erstwhile chairman.I honestly don't think another club would have handled it like that. Thought he knew better than everyone else.

Megson remains our most successful manager since Allardyce's departure  =@

There's a very very good argument to say he did know better on several counts as fucking hard as it is to swallow

But didn't Allardyce get us into the top flight with players like Ian Marshall, Anthony Barness, Simon Charlton and Gareth Farrelly. Not big stars. For me the rollercoaster began through great management, hard graft and tremendous support from the fans.

Not sure at what point Davies got involved. And not disputing he threw a lot of money into the club - but we were also making ££££s from being in the top flight from Sky money, etc, etc, etc.

We never really spent big in the top flight, modestly. Obviously some top wages - but we were in the big time.

Do we think Lennon has a worse hand than Allardyce started with when he came to the club?

Exactly.

Do we think Lennon has a worse hand than Allardyce started with when he came to the club?

Not to say Allardyce didn't perform miracles, but to suggest the club was in as bad a position as it was when Lennon took the job is ridiculous, surely?

Megson remains our most successful manager since Allardyce's departure =@

ONLY because he was sacked before he relegated us and tore us apart

Fuck off. Stoke are the plaything of the Bet365 Mon, He's pissed away more than Eddie

ONLY because he was sacked before he relegated us and tore us apart

That doesn't change the fact he was more successful than anyone we've had since. And we were relegated and are being torn apart anyway...

Benefit of a team built by Allardyce, we should of pushed the boat out after Sam left gone for the best we could afford and attract as our stock was high, the failure to do that has left us where we are today.
