Helping to sort out Korea would be a good thing for sure. He has managed to piss of the rest of the G7 though.

I suspect only temporarily my friend. Let's be honest here - none of the other 6 are going to want to walk away from the US are they? Just another of his negotiating ploys. You just watch, they'll all be backslapping having reached agreement in a few weeks time.

...It must be correct because Hollywood stars say it. True?

Maybe in the 51st State (your country of residence)...

I've genuinely had to google a few of the ones you've previously namechecked as influencers and 'darlings of the left' - I hadn't the foggiest.

Proof of exactly what I said about the 'anti's'. Anything good is to someone else's credit - anything not so good and it's his fault.

You have no idea of how much I would love it if he gets another four years. Wouldn't that just bore it right up folk like you.

Or be so pro that you then become blinkered that anything that happens must be down to him

I do wonder what's missing in your life that it would mean so much for him to be re-elected in the hope that it pisses a few people off on a football forum

interesting that Trump and Un are having a one on one meeting, at Trump's request - them two and translators

no witnesses

so whatever happens, we'll only have their version of events to go off, and am pretty sure they won't match

Both are massive bellends and will claim a huge victory

In reality, NK will do whatever the US wants, in exchange for a shit load of aid. The fact that their nuclear programme is totally fucked anyway, is by the by.

Only Bolton Wanderers my friend. Everything else is beyond peachy.

I like how you refered to me as my friend rather than sonny

I like to think that gives me some sort of elevated status ????

Is that a banana in your pocket or are you just pleased to hear from me?

You may not have been around long enough to know but my starting point with folk is that all BWFC fans are at least 51% good until such time as I have decided that they aren't.

This applies to all BWFC fans - even most of the commie, pinko freak marigolds on here.

Where's our hero "I am always right" Fanny 5 gone?

Unless someone has hijacked Australian TV and is pumping out 'fake news', Kim and The Don met today.

Trumped.

So the Dotard meets Little Rocket Man and nothing substantive is agreed, well according to the Communique there isn't. What an anti climax!

The fact they've met is a start.

It'll be interesting to see what is actually in the document that they have both signed.

I agree, it's a start but i thought the sole purpose of this summit was to get a water-tight commitment on denuclearisation of the Korean Penisula or what was the point of having the summit? Having just listened to a chunk of the press conference it was a rambling and at times incoherent Trump so for me all he has done is just kicked the can down the road. I will hold my hands up if something concrete comes of it and we start to see some dismantling happening.

It seems that both leaders' associates will undertake the nitty gritty.

It wasn't feasible that these two would magically complete a full set of conditions but at least something may have started.

Credit due to everyone who helped get this done; hope it continues to a success conclusion.

I'm no fan of Trump, but I think it's difficult to do that in a single meeting...

I'd have thought that Kim won't be doing much yet, not at least until some sanctions are lifted and a bit of aid is flown in

A bloke on the radio this morning summed it up when he said that NK really have nothing to lose and everything to gain. They're nuclear program is falling apart, and even China is now distancing itself from from NK, so they're running out of friends. So, they can say they'll stop playing with nuclear bits and bobs as long as the US chucks a load of bags of rice and food at them, and lifts some of the numerous other sanctions.

Anyway, no matter how it comes to pass, if there can be a bit of stability on that peninsula, that will be a good thing for all.

Haven't the two teams been working on this for several weeks so Kim and Trump would just do the symbolic handshake and reaffirm the agreement? Stability is good so hopefully we will see some movement soon

No, it's all been Trump, every last bit of it

Next he'll be sorting out the Middle East, then after that on to reducing starvation in Africa, when he's finished that lot he'll then be off to make Rangers & Celtic fans best pals

You also have to remember that NK have twice before had agreements ( with Clinton and Bush Jr) and both times have gone back on them

Maybe in part. Paving the way for a meeting of the top two.

They've certainly got form, and I guess that's why nobody is getting overly excited about anything yet (or they ought not to be)

Didn't they make a big show of destroying a testing plant only for it to transpire they'd move the whole set up down the road and carried on as before?

There was nothing there it would seem and no one knows where they moved it too, they don't even know how many warhead he as, they are guessing 20 to 60 ... so he could destroy 30 and maybe still have 30, compliance will be the issue but if you don't know what he has how do you even start, there is talk over here that it could take up to 20 years to sort it all out

Kim 1 v 0 Trump

Trump claims to be the "best negotiator", my arse. He pretty much gave everything and got empty promises in return. My 10yo nephew could have done a better job

What is it with you? With the Brexit thing you want interminable negotiations and the longest possible time before the result is finally achieved but you expect instant gratification on something as complex as the Korean Peninsula and a war which has not been declared over for decades?

FFS, talk about double standards. Be honest, your visceral hatred of Trump and all he stands for means that you would criticise him for knocking the top off a boiled egg.

It is quite clear to those with a modicum of common sense that the commencement of dialogue offers hope -  something that your no doubt darling Obama could get nowhere near. If he got one Nobel Peace Prize for achieving absolutely sweet fuck all then The Don should get two.

I've read a few takes on it from people who understand the context better than I do. Most seem to be in agreement that Ban Ki Moon was the driving force. You could argue that Trump's rhetoric forced the issue - but then it's been pointed out the Kim intensified his ballistic weapons programme after Trump's fire and fury messages, nor the other way around.

So DT did play a part - but probably nowhere near as much as he likes to think he has. That seems to be the general gist from analysts worth listening to.

Still that's probably #fakenews - I'm pleased these talks have taken place and let's see what transpires.

So you state it was Ban Ki Moon. Other Trump haters have stated it was all the work of China.

The undeniable truth is that this would not have happened without Trump in the White House. I rest my case m'lud.
