let's be honest, we've been saying yanks are fat and stupid since long before trump came along

all they've done by electing him is suggest it might be true

They invented cheese in a can - pure genius :)

Jesus :)  that's quite a leap

What is your beef?  Did Mummy and Daddy not pay you enough attention or something?  Hurling insults on't net . . .

As for the last bit, is that a fact?  I thought more of the shires voted leave where you'd imagine more educated people live?  Those who haven't had the same educational privileges and voted leave are probably in busy towns and cities and see the effects of immigration as negatives that outweigh positives.

You can't blame folk wanting change if they figure it will improve their lot.

If you note, I'm not throwing out any insults. I'm not calling anyone thick. Just pointing out its slightly hypocritical to complain about such name calling whilst indulging in the reverse.

I did take the 'thick' insult back but it does amaze me that some over the pond can't see through Trumps lies, misogyny, racist behaviour and reckless economic strategy Edited by Salford Trotter

I’m calling swathes of them thick

Because they fucking are

The video I posted above, are folk saying that those individuals aren’t thick just out of interest?

Same as all us Brexit supporters eh.

How's about you give democracy some respect instead of questioning the intelligence of anybody who doesn't align with your soft left world view.

I can't abide Trump. However I'll argue against his trade war and his tariffs without referring to everyone who voted for him as "thick as pigshit".

Liberals are very fond of referring to themselves as tolerant. A good number of them are not. You are effectively trying to shut down free speech and democracy by referring to people who don't conform to your narrow world view as "thick" and all the rest of it. It says a whole lot more about your intolerance than theirs.

Snowflake alert! :)

Are we really back to the ‘thick’ discussion. Bloody hell, there’s an awful lot of thin skins knocking around.

I think I posted the data stuff on this thread back in 1884, having a degree or going into higher education doesn’t make you ‘bright’, nor does going to university make you a liberal snowflake. So whoever brought up the ‘stop calling leavers thick’ into the debate, it’s been covered, you’re not thick, nor are remainers bright - however, the stats do show us where people voted, what background they are from and gives us data into why.

Poor, uneducated folk in cities voted to stay, rich educated folk in villages in the shires votedto leave. Outside cities those who are economically worse off voted to leave, unless you were in Scotland or N.Ireland.

there are no thick or bright folk in this discussion. just as there is no right or wrong in this debate, just opinions. If it wasn’t Maggie Tate would be PM. I just wish we could have this debate with facts and without the emotive language- remoaner, project fear...its all bollocks.

What is clear is we have a weak government. A weak opposition, and an utterly exhausted public. The WC has come at a great time for Westminister. We live in a month where Southgate has brought more of us together than any amount of retoric over the last two years.

Been talking sense for 30 odd years - shame only us lefties listen to him.

On camera smalltalk between Presidents of USA and Portugal in Washington before Portugal's elimination.

De Sousa: "You know, he's the best player in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo."

Trump: "Yes, yes, they say he is the greatest … So, will Christian ever run for President against you? He wouldn't win. You know he wouldn't."

De Sousa: "Mr President, you know, something I must tell you. Portugal is not the United States. It's a little different."

He’s thicker than a whale omelette

Don’t be fooled by his purple prose, he probably lifts most of it from Chomsky forums and the New Statesman.

A few monarchs ago he’d have been burned at the stake for being a fucking whoopsie

But he likes Pavement, so he’ll do for me

Yeah - pretty much spot on, but I can turn a fancy phrase or two when required which keeps me in general employment.

Anyway, saw the helicopter fly over London from our office today. Wasn’t as good as the RAF on Tuesday.
