We are doing what England do best when they have a good tournament... improving when plan A gets thrown out the window. If Sturridge is there then we must assume he's fit, if he's fit he's our best striker therefore he must play. Vardy is irresistible atm so he too has to start. & for Pabs, when Dele Alli gets some movement ahead of him to create space he too will come good. Face it mate, he's better than Ross the boss & I'm a Barkley fan..if your man gets in I'm sure he won't let us down.

I'm of the opinion that we will do well when we are the underdogs sitting back & scaring the shite out of teams on the counter.

Winner of Group B plays a third placer.

Out of 15 combinations of group qualifiers, 7 are Group A, 7 are Group D and 1 is Group C.#

France are guaranteed a top 2 finish so currently there are 11 possibilities.

It is probably best to reassess the situation after the second round is completed on Saturday, but the definitive positon may not be reached until 22nd.

Although our group winner cannot meet any of the teams playing on the 22nd, the opponent will be defined by the combination of the 4 groups with a third placed qualifier.

 

Second in Group B plays winner of Group E, probably Italy.

 

Third in Group B, if qualifying, has 9 chances of meeting Group C winners (probably Germany) and 1 chance of meeting Group D winners (probably Spain, or maybe Croatia).

 

And no, we are not yet through, as it is possible for third placers in Groups C, D, E and F to have at least 5 points.
