where did we get up to?

We're still heading out and the pounds rallying today on the back of David Davies saying we might pay some money to guarantee access to the free trade area.

Boris has also allegedly said he's all for free movement.

That bloke really is a dick

So......how does this stack up with us holding all the cards and getting what we want? - if we might pay money, then clearly we're not in as strong a position as some on here might have us believe

Were just throwing them a sprat to catch a mackerel, we don't want to embarrass them ahead of the discussions and in their current predicament it's good we are being a little magnanimous.

Out for me

Were just throwing them a sprat to catch a mackerel, we don't want to embarrass them ahead of the discussions and in their current predicament it's good we are being a little magnanimous.

Do you still think though, that we hold all the cards and will get 100% of what we want? - or are you willing to admit that we may have to negotiate on some matters, and possibly we may have to offer some concessions?

The fine detail I'm not interested in the 3 key things for me are getting our sovereignty back, free trade and controlling our borders, 2 we have as soon as we are out regardless of what the EU say, the 3rd is up for negotiation and I believe it will be easily achievable, in respect of these 3 key areas I'm sure we are in a great position to achieve them, in reality just 1 is up for discussion. I really don't know what all the fuss and worry is about.

Mounts is definitely winning in this thread.

Currently immigration per year is 345,000 the governemt target is 100,000 how do they think that 100k is achievable without being able to control your borders, bloody crackers.

Is this a dirty protest?

100,000 has always been a nonsense target, who even came up with that figure anyway? With it being plumb on a round number I'm assuming someone just picked a figure out of the sky

For a start I think we are missing a trick with student visas, we are always banging on about the trade imbalance that we are up against, bringing students in at £10k+ a year fees who then pay to live over here brings in billions to the economy

We should be trying to get 100,000 - 200,000 of those on every year from the likes of China and India. A 100,000 overall combined target harpoons that immediately

David Cameron, 2010 "no ifs, no buts....".

Do students count as immigrants though?

Agreed its an industry, and I can't see numbers being restricted.

He disappeared just as quick as Farage leaving the present Government to sort out this mess.

Anyway, this Brexit thing is looking more of a soft rather than hard option.

I think they do

I'm sure that DC did restrict it to get the overall number down, fucking bonkers as we were so desperate for money coming into the country

Biggest proportion of immigrants this year are Romanians Not sure that's going to end well.

I predict that after all this has been agreed and put to bed we will have not far short of what we started with...a complete waste of time and 200 odd pages on here plus a cop out from May, Johnson, Davis et al.

Probably. The only difference being we'll have zero influence...

You haven't got any influence on a football forum.

For a shithole Northern town, like ours, one of the plus points of out was we wouldn't be importing any more deadlegs on the scrounge, attracted by our cheap housing and the fact their mates are bedded down here.

Do it properly or nor at all ffs.

Agreed. If they keep coming they'll have to house them behind the stands and that's not acceptable.

As I have said before, I want the best deal possible, and I will not give a running commentary on the negotiations.
