Tragic that he died so young and was never really able to appreciate his own talent.

Sky Arts did a great documentary on the Glasgow (and nearby) music scene of the 80s. Jesus & Mary Chain, Soup Dragons, Primal Scream, Shop Assistants, BMX Bandits, etc. Quite a decent watch.

What’s that I hear you cry?

”Oh Rudy give us something different, something with a bit of culture”

Well what about Salford x Spain

Yes a Morrissey Mariachi tribute band called Mexrissey

You got it

Just had a listen on my local walk. Some decent tunes and excellent guitar as expected but couldn't help thinking could they have been better as Ride tunes with Loz percussion and Gardener harmonies.

Was reminiscing last night with a bit of Ride.

Grasshopper - what a tune.

At the ritz, with the bouncy floor?

Nick Cave (and Warren Ellis) done a new album, cobbled together in a few days during lockdown

described as "a brutal but very beautiful record nested in a communal catastrophe."

it's good, not what you'd call easy listening, but similar to The Bad Seeds last couple of albums

Yeah, the ballroom blitz.

Also, where we ended up on our first date back in 1999!

Top gig that. Had no idea what to expect but it was brilliant

Neighbourhood Weekend now 3-5 Sept. Ian Brown been replaced by James. No surprise really.

Just as well because Browny isn’t great live. James however is always a top gig

Listened to Kings of Leon new album today. Ffs lads get back on the heroin

Made a UK Alternative playlist the other week- these lockdown nights are long. Difficult to choose a Ride track, went with Twisterella in the end. Great song.

Bloodstock, that really is the old skool metal fest.

Oddly was promoting three random nights of Saxon before the pandemic hit. Birmingham was almost sold out but in London was difficult to shift the tickets.

Orange Goblin ,  anyone into these ?

Got tickets hopefully to see them later this year .

Bought tickets because of the support band.

King Creature. ( brilliant band from Cornwall) Saw them 2 years ago with Phil Campbell and The Bastard Sons.

Any way , back to Orange Goblin. Any recommendations of albums . They have never been on my wavelength.  But have quite a big back catalogue.

OG are great, got into them on the wolf bites back album. Great riffs, bit like Kyruss. Supposed to be great live.
