FFS. This isn't Behind The Stands. Most folk come on here to read bullshit rumours and conjecture, with the odd bit of accurate stuff thrown in. It's boring as fuck reading your personal squabbles.

  • Sure it's that Mandela effect in full flow here that we all seem to be OK with this. It's a fucking travesty and complete shitshow. He's our most prolific striker by a country mile, has been

We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

So much for the 4 or 5 deals ready to go then. We’ve had two I suppose both of which would probably have been made if we’d stayed in L1 so what’s happening with the Championship plan Fergie supposedly had? With our players not back until next week following our play off delay we’re already behind so hopefully things will pick up before the weekend. It’s all getting a little tedious at the moment so I’m hoping ducks are lining up in a row behind the scenes.

The only thing getting tedious is those moaning about it! 😂

Has anyone made more than a couple of signings yet?

32 signings in the Championship so far apparently. That's just over an average of 1 per club.

Appreciate a few have bigger squads than us, but its slow everywhere at the moment..

Probably still is there probably free agents if there lined up . even if a player is out of contract he will be getting paid till June from is former club then we take over the contract from July I would expect

Or alternatively there playing in the World Cup and will be tied up till France and Brazil get knocked out

Yeah, the problem at the moment is, with the exception of Cardiff and Lincoln, the rest have better squads than us I'd argue.

But this was always going to be the case when we finally got up.

The way some are going on, we may as well not have bothered.

Said before this will be very tough but let's see if we can spring a few surprises.

I also feel that it will be very much a situation where our starting lineup v Preston may be quite different to our starting lineup come the close of the transfer window.

As it will be for a lot of teams.

That said, I still would like us to be competitive in those opening games!

We have by a country mile the worst squad currently in the Championship......You cannot seriously think Cardiff and Lincoln are behind us....wow

No, I don't mate. Maybe I should've clarified this by saying all the other clubs are championship standard already. I think its fair to say the 3 promoted teams aren't- yet.

Think Fergal said early on that he expects most signings to be late in the window and for us fans to be patient.

We're not going to be though are we 😄

The way the fixtures have fallen, we've been given 3 "winnable" games in August followed by 3 nasty one's.

We really can't afford to cough up more points from those 3 than necessary, but SS will be fully aware of that, he won't want to start the season with 6 defeats and will do everything he can to make us competitive from day one.

But it does feel strange currently to think we had a squad that struggled to beat the Port Vales and Doncasters and we've lost 7 or 8 regular first team starters. If we started in L1 tomorrow with our current squad we'd struggle, never mind the championship, that's the size of the task in the next 6 weeks.

aye

though I'm sort of encouraged that we chose to release the likes of GJ and Tutu, I'm sure they'd have been "ok" in the Championship if the aim was to finish 21st, but we're after and confident we can get better

The World cups about 10 days longer than normal, which will have a massive impact on the market. Not necessarily because we’re in the market for players there, but nobody will trade players out until they’ve got them in. We’ve got 3 weeks until we see proper activity I reckon

Iles indicated on Twitter that Fergal / SS looking at 3 being in by this time next week
