Ice Station Macron

Given the number of posts about how cold it was yesterday, got to thinking: some buildings/stadiums are now heavily laden with solar panels. If they were installed all over the roofs at the macron, could they be used to power some sort of underseat warming system- eg blowing warm air.

Not trying to get to a barmy 20 degrees or owt daft, but just a bit to keep the blood flowing. Over the course of the year, would they create some revenue?

  • I've done an SAS selection course and also done Hartlepool away on boxing day. Yesterday was not cold. Some folk need to toughen up a bit.

Two things I remember ftom the Sunderland game..

1. It was fucking cold

2. There was a Bolton fan with a Newcastle hat on or it was a geordie in the away end and the Sunderland fans to the right was going ape.

That's the game I was on about

I was at the Norwich at home pens game too and it had nowt on how cold Roker was. Felt like the wind was whipping in right off the sea onto the terrace

Oh aye, Chester at Sealand Road once when it snowed was frigging cold. Bolton fans having a snow ball fight on the terrace at half time to keep warm until the rozzers decided to break it up

Munich, Marseille and Belgrade were all less than tropical

Barnsley away is the coldest I've been at a game

Munich, Marseille and Belgrade were all less than tropical

Marseille was up there in my top 5 brass monkeys.

I was that smashed in Munich it could've been -25c and I don't think I'd have noticed.

We had game at Blackpool in 86 in December

Coach picked up on Union Street 2am where it had been fairly warm, so most had shirt sleeve only.

Slept most of way up north where it had snowed overnight. Think it kicked off with police in side terrace just to warm up.

The "snowiest" match i remember was Oxford away...they let us in the stand next to it to get out of the snowstorm and off the open terrace

Belgrade proved their reputation for being mentalists by throwing snowballs at us ????

Snowiest?

Everton at home, NYD, 1979 (?)

I remember the corner of Burnden paddock and lever end Chucking snowballs at Marc Overmars.

All the snow had been swept into a big pile and kids spent the game dicking around in it.

Snowiest?

Stoke away 94ish.

Toddy Orlingson prompted a full on snow storms.

Day off school the next day.

I'm ok until the reebok after 03ish.

There's games even against big teams I honestly have no idea about.
